Inquiry Approach
It can be seen that keeping all of the students focused, excited, and on the task at the start of class
is tough enough (Powell, 2022). In a safe environment, young children are encouraged to explore
and play. As a result, early development educators and child care providers require a secure
environment.
Question
How can I increase the participation of reserved children in the class?
Step 1-Establish content for context for learning
The Reserved nature of children are not taking part in the activities of the class which is why the
teachers are required to change the ways to provide learning to them. Hence, they are to rethink
the ways of teaching so that all the learners will be able to get proper knowledge and
understanding (Martinez, 2018).
Step 2-Define question for inquiry and undertake professional learning
How can I enhance the participation of the children in the activities of the class?
As the learners must take part in the various activities of the classroom so that they can get to
know about the new concepts with their classmates. It can be said that participating in any new
activity can be intimidating for the reserved nature children. That is why it is required to keep
them encouraged so that they can enjoy the activities.
Step 3-Apply knowledge to teaching practice through an action plan
I will try to divide the class into small groups so that they feel comfortable while participating in
front of others. Then I will notice the behavior and performance of all the learners, especially the
shy ones. As they require more time in order to explore the new ways and adopt them. Along
with it, I will make use of mind warm-up by raising their hands and dividing teams together on
the count of three. As it can be seen that due to movement students are able to focus and learn
more (Castelli and et.al.,2020).
Step 4-Implement action plan
Children perform the above-mentioned activity in various ways and this activity has helped a lot
of learners to get rid of their shyness and reserved nature.
