Ways of approaching ethical issues
The aim of this activity is for you to engage in a collective discussion of the how the contents of this
session has or might affect your practice.
Main Activity and Question to Answer:
Read the Reading 2 PDF, and pick 1 or 2 concepts, and write no more than 250 words on how you
would use these concepts in your place of work. Your place of work can be a theoretical place, for
example an office, factory, team or group you are involved with, with good or bad management.
This activity is trying to encourage you to talk about something that you have learned in terms of
ethical issues.
Really it's encouraging you to say something like, "after studying this part of the module I would try
to apply this concept......or I would so this differently."
In this discussion post, I will focus on moral myopia and moral reasoning. The fact that moral
sensitivity is important in all employees, such that they can make the appropriate decision in
conjunction with the ethical requirement. According to my perspective, ethics is of high
importance while working in a team. Common examples which are relevant in routine
activity include offering constructive criticism during group discussion, managing delegation
with co-workers, supporting and helping team members to accomplish their responsibilities,
and maintaining a positive working environment at the workplace. All these standards are
crucial because they ultimately support team dynamics and help in achieving the
organizational goals (Hutton 2019). After studying this part of the module, I will ensure that
my work practice and decision making standards must be constructive and should not be
affected by my personal insight or perspectives. Rather, it should be on the interest of the
group and must be responsible for the generation of a positive environment.
Moral reasoning is also linked to the personal perspective where employees must be aware of
their responsibilities, expected support. Often there arises a situation in which personal profit
