Introduction
This report mainly focuses on an individual acting as an operational manager who will prepare a
report that will be presented to the management team outlining the scope of the work that will be
done in moving a house from the Unitec campus to 2 Te arai Rd, Wellsford, North island.
Because of the high financial expenses incurred in building or buying a new house in New
Zealand many people prefer relocating with their houses instead of constructing or buying new
ones. The concept of relocating a house can be seen greater but achieving it in real life situations
is the greater. Sometimes people tend to choose not to leave behind their houses due to the great
memories they have in that house or sometimes because they cannot be able to afford acquiring
another[ CITATION Mic131 \l 1033 ] .
Otago daily times has as clearly indicated that the value of houses prices in New Zealand has
been ranked among the most overvalued behind Hong Kong. New Zealand's housing debt sat at
89% of GDP, as per the report. The report was published the time when New Zealand’s median
house price increased by 3.6% year-on-year in august to $549,000, as per the report by the Real
Estate Institute of New Zealand. The median house price of Auckland also grew by 1.4% b in
August to $852,000, the city's first year-on-year increase in six months.
On the other side acquiring a moved house is much cheap as compared to buying a new one or
constructing g a new house. Many people currently are carefully on buying relocated houses due
to the facts that they are cheaper and it is possible to be moving withy them considering the fact
that the relocating expenses are not that high[ CITATION Joy16 \l 1033 ]
Before relocating a house, the owner should consider the phases that has to be done in order to
have the house relocated from on area to another.

Planning for the project
The building to be relocated from Unitec campus to 2 Te arai Rd, Wellsford, North Island is
7.5m in width, 16.06m in length and 2.7m high which is currently a newly built 4bedroom house.
Currently it has all the house facilities such as the kitchen, bath, doors and windows.
Before the house is moved we have to select the most suitable route we can use to Wellsford
according to Google map which is the standard map used in New Zealand. With that there are
two routes that can be used to enable us reach the destination
The first option is the highway 1 which is approximately 88km from Auckland which mean we
require approximately 3hrs to move the building, but unfortunately we are less likely to go
through this route because currently it has a tunnel known as Johnstones Hill tunnel which is
roughly 40km from the Unitec this tunnel is 7.5km, with that it is very unsafe to transport large
objects which may cause damage to the building and at the same time the tunnel because it is
narrow. This specific route is normally used road users coming or moving from Auckland in our
scenario as we are looking to establish the most suitable route with minimal traffic.
The second option which is likely to be used is the 16 highway which is approximately 91.1km
from Unitec which means that we will require 3 to 4hrs to relocate the building. This specific
route is wider as compared to the highway 1 so with that we can move the building more easily
since most of the road is a farm road so with that at night the traffic will be very low.
Types of vehicles to be used
In the first phase in sort of heavy trucking we have a very large assignment which will involve a
2.5 tones building, one crane, 530 GIGA and 6 trained and specialized work crow. A truck with
4-Axle full trailer is known to carry up to 3 tones.
