This present research is quite significant for the researcher because it helps in
understanding about the role of leaders and line managers in developing the talented
employees within an organisation. This particular study helps the researcher in getting
detailed information about the topic and its proficient use in conducting future research on
the similar topic. It also helps in attaining the aim and objectives of the research in an
effective and efficient manner.

Concept and elements of talent management within an organisation.
As per the view of Wiradendi Wolor (2020), talent management can be defined as the
process of attracting, developing, identifying, engaging, deploying and retaining
employees which are primarily considered as valuable for the organisation. To gain
effective results it is important for the company to align with the business objectives and
strategic goals in the competitive business environment. The primary aim of talent
management is to create a motivated employee team who will stay within the business in
the long period of time. There are several elements of talent management that helps the
business in acquiring talent for attaining goals and objectives. Performance management is
also an important element that help the business in improving the performance of
employees so that they work with high efficiency and effectiveness.
Role of leaders and line managers in managing and developing talented employees of
Tesco.
As per the view of Naim and Lenka (2018), line managers and leaders generally play a
very important role within the organisation because they help employees in achieving all
the objectives and goals. Employees are the most important asset of the business which
helps in gaining high success and growth in the competitive business environment.
Leaders generally plan and set and direction for the employees which helps in aligning
employees to achieve competitiveness within the business. It is important for the leaders to
develop employees in the right manner so that they work with high accuracy and
efficiency within an organisation. They help in increasing the morale of employees within
the company so that they work with high confidence and dedication for improved growth.

They generally creates a healthy and positive working environment for employees so that
feel motivated for staying in the company for long time period.
Different challenges faced by Tesco in the absence of line managers and leaders
within an organisation.
As per the view of Whysall, Owtram and Brittain (2019), there are various different
challenges that organisation face in the absence of line managers and leaders. Making the
right hiring decisions is the major challenge that company face because hiring an
inefficient employee is not fruitful for the business in the future. Managing team in an
effective way is also a challenge for the company because every employee has different
thoughts and this creates conflicts among them. Retaining employees is another challenge
that increases the employee turnover within the business environment and this creates
problem for the managers to manage and develop them.
