Problem of diseases
Developing countries face a lack of infrastructure and technology to provide ailment to
people suffering from a host of diseases, thereby requiring immediate attention.
1. Shortage of medical supply stock – Medical supply chains in poor countries fail to
provide for the health requirements of its people.
Firstly, medical facilities fail to cater to people suffering from common
diseases like malaria, diabetes, tuberculosis, diarrhea, hypertension and AIDS.
Secondly, the many governments have urged common illnesses to be treated in
households rather than in the limited medical facilities of these countries.
2. Poor sanitation and water facilities – The root of most healthcare problems in
developing countries is the lack of proper sanitation facilities and supply of clean
drinking water (Alvarez, Barney & Newman, 2015)
