stated that feminist leadership represent the contradiction in terms as feminist equality contrary
to the leadership and feminism being opposite to the power. However, the leadership shed light
on certain characteristics such skills, traits and trust as well as empowerment in a person to lead
others and guide them in completing a certain task. Chin (2011) stated that, being women leader,
female personality is represented in a different manner which is like a passion for the world and
everyone admires them. This is because of three types of components such as norms & values,
skills and personal characteristics. The first one reflects skills such as learning abilities,
empowerment and cooperation as well as other related aspects which are helpful in handling the
business related task by holding the leading position (Chin, 2011). Furthermore, second aspect is
of norms and values under which it is observed that how a female team leader is transforming the
ideas into the action in an ethical manner. They consider their morale authority and apply the
standards for achieving the long as well as short term objectives of the business.
Altintas and Murat (2008) stated that women leadership is based on certain principles
such as fairness, justice and equality. Most of the women suffer through critical phase and thus
develop the capabilities to fight with injustice and support to people or other women in the
society. They focus on marginalizing certain issues and addressing the requirement of women
community in the society for providing them freedom. Feminist leadership is most involved
under the community development and collaboration whereby presence of every one is valued. It
provides the new direction for the business with the implementation of right kind of strategy by
seeking the long term growth and development of the business. On a critical note, shared power
is important in the feminist leadership. The women are empowered to work with integrity and
face the complicated situation of the business. However, it is because of their specific traits and
skills as they have got power to work several things at the same time. However, it is the fact that
overload of social responsibilities make them more responsible. Owing to this, the specific
attribute such as focusing on solution is discovered under the feminist leaders. They less like to
focus on problem by anticipating its direct impact on the business performance. They like to
discuss the issues with subordinate for the purpose of brining most suitable solution. It is in
context to the undertaken aim of this study which was carried to determine the contribution of
the women leaders in the long term sustainability of the business where this part has delineated
to the leadership and feminism being opposite to the power. However, the leadership shed light
on certain characteristics such skills, traits and trust as well as empowerment in a person to lead

discuss the issues with subordinate for the purpose of brining most suitable solution. It is in
context to the undertaken aim of this study which was carried to determine the contribution of
the women leaders in the long term sustainability of the business where this part has delineated
the elementary concept of feminist leadership. This in turn helped to ascertain such effective
characteristics of women leaders that leads to a durable existence of a successful business.
Cheung and Halpern (2010) explained that feminist leadership has power to find out
several solution of the single problem. They go to the root of issue and propose the valid
suggestions whereby corporation can ensure the stable performance with the increased rate of
return. Emergence of feminist leadership is possible only with the share power and education as
well as mentoring. It is because generally the leading positions are offered to men only. Owing to
this, women cannot be able to play the significant role in the organization. For this purpose,
aspects such as consultation, mentioning and equality are introduced under which role of women
was observed.
In addition to this, Idris (2007) asserted the role of women is increased towards the
gender equality at workplace as well as home. Yet, they are not provided the equal right in
context of leadership roles due to consideration of anomaly in comparison to men. Though, the
current era is representing the extensive contribution of the women towards the organizational
success. They are increasingly praised for the efforts put at workplace due to their excellence and
experience by taking the fruitful decision for the long term success of the businesses. They
manifest the most suitable kind of leadership style which become the reason behind the higher
level of growth of the corporation (Eifert, Miguel and Posner, 2010). This in turn corporation can
effectively determine the long run success. Nevertheless, they are considered on the leading
position just after the male leaders only. Thus, it is complex for them to become successful in the
male dominated leadership roles. However, they keep on focusing on opportunities in everything
such strategic partners, businesses and families etc. Such kind attitude of them allow
corporations to move towards the upward direction by managing all related activities in a

this, women cannot be able to play the significant role in the organization. For this purpose,

faced by the stakeholders. This kind of situation enable them to take the corrective action as per
the situation. This directly link the performance of the business towards the certainty. Jones

decision making capabilities. However, at workplace they must have enough experience and
education. Otherwise, they might become emotional in certain cases which become the reason
for the loss. Therefore, it is significant to involve the women into the leading position of the

specifically targeted to detect both hindering and encouraging factors that in turn impact on the
women to lead a business and in turn help them to make a prompt use of their leadership skills.
According to Miller (2011) lack of role model of women leadership is affecting the
power of women as they are not provided the right direction. They feel depressed to working for
their own even when asking for the freedom to work. There are some communities where the
role of women is negligible and their decision do not matter a lot in their families. However, they
are pressurized to keep calm and focus on the domestic responsibilities only. In case they try to
move forward then strict actions are taken against them. However, Tamerius (2010) reported the
current scenario has provided more opportunities for women through change the legislation and
regulatory framework. Now-a day women get more power to take the strict action related to
unethical work conducted against them. They have got enough freedom to education, work and
live independently. However, role of charity organizations and NGO are also important who take
the strict action to discover the leader among the women. This in turn women are getting more
opportunities at the workplace and even government are promoting the women leaded start ups.
Blackmore (2013) articulated that there are some factors which hinders the women from
public decision making and leadership. The biggest reason behind the same is male dominating
society under which views and perception of women do not matter a lot. On the other hand,
absence of enabling environment is another crucial factor where they cannot get the positive
thoughts. In fact they are provided right kind of support in term of changing their personality and
keeping pace with men in their corporate world. Chin (2011) critically evaluated that these

follow specific norms. However, basically majority of customs and rituals are directed towards
the women and they need to abide by the same. This over burden impose the critical situation
throughout their life and they have to struggle for their freedom. It in turn evidenced a major

2.2 Research method
The qualitative research type is related to socially constructed environment under which
researcher seek to gather valid information on the basis of theoretical knowledge and
understanding. This presents the outcome of human experience with regard to selected topic. The
rationale behind putting more focus on human experience is their involvement in the study.
However, aspects such as behaviour, perception and belief of individual cannot be quantified so
accordingly application of qualitative research proves to be more effective in such kind of
scenario (Collis and Hussey, 2014). However, the present area of enquiry is allied with the role
of women leadership skills for supporting long term growth of the businesses is based on
qualitative type of research only. Thus, the motive of current investigation can be fulfilled by the
application of qualitative research only as research get the chance to conduct the in-depth
analysis through theoretical approach. Therefore, quantitative type of research cannot be used
due to its association with statistical tools and the study under consideration has nothing to do
with such kind of facts and figures. Therefore, it would more appropriate to apply qualitative
type of research to meet the framed research aim and objectives.
2.3 Research philosophy
There are basic two types of philosophies are applied in the field of research philosophy;
interpretivism and positivism (Cooper and Schindler, 2011). On the other hand, interpretivism
research philosophy shed light on perception of particular individual and knowledge owned by
by him or them related to specific topic of the investigation.
Interpretivism Positivism
Focus on interpretation rather considering
simple facts.
Applied under the empirical research with the
use of scientific methods in the form of
statistical tools.
Helpful to interpret views of others to meet the
specific research aim in accordance with
collected data from the appropriate
participants.
Focuses on objective research which remains
value free and researcher ensures to search or
go beyond the personal biases or own
knowledge
More effective for the social constructed world More effective in the field of sociology theory

More effective for the social constructed world More effective in the field of sociology theory
due to production of generalize data
According to the above mentioned table, application of interpretivism research
philosophy is more appropriate for the current study in which research come to know about the
views and suggestions of participants. This aids to presents the outcome in a more effective
manner (Olivia, 2017).
2.4 Research design
Research refers to the procedure applied for the presentation of collected data in the line
of aim and objectives. Under the field of research major research design covers exploratory,
explanatory and descriptive. As the nature of current study is descriptive which has nothing to do
with exploratory and explanatory research which are applied basically under the quantitative type
of investigation (Crowther and Lancaster, 2012). Owing to this, descriptive research design has
been applied for assessing the role of women leadership to support the long term growth of the
businesses. Here, researcher would interpret the characteristics of population and accordingly
derive the valid outcome. Hence, descriptive research design is the most appropriate one for
meeting the research purpose and objectives of the investigation in an effectual manner.
2.5 Research approach
Research approach consists of two major aspects such as deductive and inductive one. On
the other hand, deductive approach is more focused towards the generalization through which
research can reach to the outcome of the investigation by studying the specific aspects in
accordance with the theoretical aspect. Since that current study on assessing the role of women
leadership skills in long term growth of the business is more theoretical in nature where it
becomes appropriate for scholar to apply the deductive approach only. Owing to this, specific
approach has been selected whereby facts and figures related to women leadership have been
collected and accordingly the same is analysed to produce better outcome (Denzin and Lincoln,
2011).
2.6 Data collection method
A research remain incomplete if evidence is not provided by collecting enough data to
meet the objectives. In this context basically two types of data are collected such as primary and
secondary. It is not necessary that every research apply both kind of data but is it highly based on
According to the above mentioned table, application of interpretivism research
philosophy is more appropriate for the current study in which research come to know about the
views and suggestions of participants.
Hence, descriptive research design is the most appropriate one for
meeting the research purpose and objectives of the investigation in an effectual manner.

the type or nature of the study. In case of primary data, it is important to have enough time as
information is collected at first hand by using sources such as questionnaire, interview and
observation etc. On the other hand, secondary data are already available which are applied by
researchers in accordance with their requirement. The data used for secondary information
are;journals, books and online articles etc (Flick, 2009). The current areas of enquiry is analysis
of role of women leadership skills in supporting long term growth of the businesses, both
primary and secondary data have been collected. The rationale behind collecting both kind of
information is to access the past information and taking the views of the people about the same.
It aids to construct the meaningful outcome which will directly address the research aim and
objectives. Furthermore, the study under consideration applies the questionnaire method for
collection of primary data and the secondary have been collected by using the above mentioned
sources. Application of questionnaire method proves to be effective in saving the time taken in
collecting the information and becoming more specific towards the research objective or aim.
2.7 Sampling design
Sampling is the process of selecting the participants for collection of primary data. The
basic two techniques are used for selecting the sample from; probabilistic and non-probabilistic.
The major techniques or design involved under the non-probabilistic sampling are convenience,
quota, purposive and network. On the other hand, application of probabilistic sampling is done
on the basis of providing equal chance to get selected (Gomez and Jones, 2010).

on the basis of providing equal chance to get selected (Gomez and Jones, 2010).
As per the above table indicates that data can be either collected from sampling or entire
population. However, it not possible to target overall population from the collection of data,
hence selection of sample is important. Owing to this, 20 respondents as employees from the
women leaded organization has been selected. The basis of the selection was purpose sampling
under which researcher has specific purpose to select only women leaded organization.
Therefore, accordingly 20 participants will be selected as per the convenience (Jackson, 2010).
This shows that selection of other sampling design would have been inappropriate. Thus,
purposive sampling is most suitable to address the research aim and objectives in the right
manner.
2.8 Data analysis
The section of data analysis plays vital role in research methodology as it is the means to
extract outcome from the collected information. The basic techniques used for the purpose of
analysing the data are; qualitative and quantitative. As it is already mentioned that nature of the
current study is qualitative type, thus same kind of techniques has been applied. Such kind of
techniques involve thematic analysis under which themes are prepared on the basis of research
questions. It is followed by graphs and frequency table along with detail explanation (Kuada,
2012). This detail explanation is done in the line of research aim with mixture of both primary
population. However, it not possible to target overall population from the collection of data,
hence selection of sample is important. Owing to this, 20 respondents as employees from the

type of data analysis technique only. It leads to present the outcome in a more clear manner and
support readers to develop deep understanding related to the topic under consideration (Bernard,
2011). Thus, selected methodology is justifiable in context of the present investigation and
reflecting the outcome of the aim in a more precise manner.
2.9 Research limitation
Since, the topic of women leadership is studied very less in context of long term growth
of the businesses. Owing to this, limited resources for secondary data are available. This led to
broaden the research area and imposed barriers in the process of data collection. However,
efforts are put to incorporate all necessary data in the study. Furthermore, completing the current
research is the lengthy procedure due to association of several kind of activities such as
preparing proposal, literature and research methodology section as well as data analysis. It is
quite complex to complete all research related activities in less time span (Collis and Hussey ,
2014). However, scholar used the procedure related to Gantt chart for dividing all activities
related to research on time. Furthermore, due to availability of time, sample size was kept quite
small as 20 only. Though, it is effective representing the population targeted under the sampling.
Therefore, researcher tried best to achieve the outcome of the investigation with the application
of most effective or suitable practices in order to address the research aim and objectives.
Moreover, lack of enough financial resources it was not possible to organize the other procedure
of data collection methods such as interview, Hence, simple and effective procedure related to
questionnaire method was adopted. In this manner, current research also possess certain research
limitation which are focused at the time of its completion.
2.10 Ethical consideration
Ethics reflects the norms, standards and certain rules related to the topic or dissertation
