INTRODUCTION
Safeguarding is a medical concept associated with taking care of patients. This is defined
as practise used by people for determining welfare of an individual. There are several medical
practices used while treating individuals. Safeguarding is involved with managing the individuals
who are not able to take care of their own (Brammer and Pritchard-Jones, 2019). There are
various kind of practices within health care practitioners and carers such as advocacy, positive
risk taking, making safeguarding personal and adult family group conferences. There are several
legal regulations and policies provided for managing this type of treatment and care. In the
following project, there is discussion about a 89 years old lady, Doris who is living alone and
managing her work. It is seen that she is unable to remember things and once she had claimed
her carer for taking money out of purse. This scenario required legal considerations and there is
evaluation of medical carer. Some of the safeguarding practices or interventions can be used by
medical care providers to enhance their way of treating Doris. All the guidance of regulations
must be followed.
Describe the safeguarding intervention
Main objective of adult safeguarding policy is to improve the arrangements of
safeguarding for old aged people who are at risk. These have risk from exploitation, abuse and
neglect (Braye, and Preston-Shoot, 2017). There is need to neglect the objective of prevalence of
harm. In context of present scenario, safeguarding is needed for adult people as they face more
problems related to memory loss and health issues. They need extra care and support for living a
good life (Helsper and et.al, 2020). One way to provide safeguarding includes keeping a
caretaker. In the present scenario , safeguarding intervention is needed for Doris who is a 83
years old lady living alone. She was having problem of arthritis and there was difficulty in
accomplishing some activities of household. Her daughter, Jenny decided to hire a carer for her
so that she will not have problem in managing the work she has to do in whole day. Carer will
also take care of her medication and health. The safeguarding intervention involved in this case
includes Adult family group conferences and making safeguarding personal. In case of Doris and
her carer, Precious these two safeguarding principles are mentioned below -
