models with exquisite features and affordable and tailor made price range, there is a situation
o confusion within the market scenario, regarding which phone must be bought, or rather
which phones is value for money in the present situation. Therefore, in Australia, there are a
number of mobile phone manufacturers, governing and ruling the smart phone industry.
However, Samsung is one of the oldest brand in the market, conducting business since, 1938,
and is one of the giant smartphone company present in the market. Therefore, in the
following research the aim is to understand the trend of buying and using Samsung Mobile

In the recent times, there are many smartphone companies and manufacturers who are
providing the customers with upgraded products, which are have enhanced and exquisite
features, at a very affordable price structure. The, smart phone manufacturers are not only
focusing upon the technological features but also are focusing upon the comforts of the users
and the outlook or designing of the products. The mobile phones that are available in the
market are seen with variant colours and diverse operating system or launchers that are easy
to use and deal with. Along with this, the manufacturers are providing the products to the
customers in an extremely affordable price structure. The technological advancements and
advanced innovations in the field of science has further made the job easy for the smartphone
manufacturing houses to easily get the technologies, in a cheaper price and further deliver the
products to the customers, at a much cheaper price. Now, this development in technology and
science has increased the numbers of manufactures in the market and has also increased the
competition within the market regarding the same. This increased competition and increased
number of manufacturers have provided the customers with diverse choices to choose from
with exquisite features and affordable price structure along with modern and modified
designs. In this light of competition, it is seen that the older mobile phone manufacturing
companies are facing increasing problems and drops in sales, the newer mobile pho e
companies are doing better business that the existing and older ones. More importantly. There
is a gap or difference in the price structure and features provided by the new manufacturing
companies and the older or existing ones. Therefore, the present research paper will talk
about and dawn upon the market of Samsung in Australia, especially in Brisbane.
Samsung is a South Korean multinational conglomerate, with its head quarter in the
Samsung town of Seoul. The company is doing business since, 1938, and is affiliated to
numerous brands and businesses, and all these brand are conglomerated under the brand

Samsung. The Samsung electronics was launched in 1977. In the initial years, the company
had seen a lot of failures and unsuccessful products and launches, however, irrespective of
that the company had decided to stay in the electronics company had decided to stay in the
mobile phone industry and expand its business and customer base. The research and
development team of the organization had worked rigorously, to get the organization an
exquisite position in the market, and in the later years, it had become one of the major mobile
communication industry in the market.
In the recent years, the company is seen to be facing certain issues and challenges
related to the customer and bar and expansion and also certain product related issues. The
emerging companies are providing almost the same materials and similar specs and perks in
the mobile phones, but at a relatively lesser price, which has posed the organization in a
competitive market, reducing its sales and customer base.
Research Objectives:
In the research therefore, the areas that will be evaluated are,
Sales and positioning of the brand in the Australian market.
Number of people using the device.
Mobile phone brand prevalent and dominant in the Australian market, and the reason
for being so.
Research Method:
This particular research proposal will include both the qualitative and quantitative
forms of research and data collection method. Qualitative forms of data collection method
essentially includes the survey processes and the interview methods, whereby the respondents
are given a particular set of questionnaire and are asked to fill them out as per their views.
The survey process refers to the process of conducting surveys in a particular area or in a

particular office, whereby, the interviewers will collect data by asking a set of questions to
the respondents. This form of data collection method is essential for the quantitative purpose
of data analysis, as the provided data will be helpful in order to understand and quantify the
data and to represent them statistically. The quantitative form of data collection will also
include the mail surveys or the mail interviews, whereby the respondents will be mailed with
the questionnaires, so that they can fill up the data as per their comfortable time.
The qualitative form of data collection refers to the secondary data collection, where
the previous works will be evaluated to gain a better understanding, and also the data sheet
and the previous year sales reports of the company will be reviewed and evaluated to gain a
better understanding of the market position of the company and the sales and the marketing
positioning of the company. Also, it will include the open ended question and the answers on
the same as provided by the respondents. This will provide a better insight regarding the
behavioural conducts of the respondents and their consumer behaviours, which is important
for the understanding of the market position of the brand and also to know and understand the
views regarding the mobile phones of Samsung and the specs that the company provides.
Sampling process refers to the methods of selecting the target group and the audience
upon whom the research has to be conducted. The sampling is to be drawn from the large
group of population. For example, in this particular research, a random sampling method has
to be incorporated, whereby, a samller number of people will be questioned and interviewed
from all the age group, who are using the mobile phones.
Research Analysis:
To analyse the data, both quantitative and qualitative methods will be used. The
quantitative modes of data analysis refers to presenting and evaluating the collected data in
the quantitative forms, that is, with the use of numerical and statistical graphs. For this

purpose, the collected data will be divided into certain groups, concerning the demographic
factors. The collected data will be divided as per the location of the respondents, the age of
the respondents, the gender of the respondents and the occupation that they are involved in.
this will provide a better insight regarding the users and the trends of using the mobile phones
of this particular brand. This data will essentially be shown under the statistical graphs, for
example, bar graphs and pie charts.
The qualitative data analysis will include the motives and reason behind using the
mobile phones of this particular brand, and also choosing any other brand over Samsung. The
qualitative data will be consisted of the data provided by the respondents, in the open ended
questions that they were provided with. Viewing the qualitative data as given by the
respondents will help us to understand the reasons for using and not using this particular
phone, and along with that, the answers will also provide us with the understanding of the
issues related to the phones, the prospects and the consequences regarding the usage of the
same. Moreover, it will provide us with the understanding of how and why are the mobile
phones of other companies better than the mobiles of Samsung.
