Online Changes in Prices of Sanitizers during Lockdown in UK

This study analyzes the impact of price changes on high demanded products like sanitizers during the covid scenario in UK. The study aims to identify the changes in online shopping and strategies used to deal with the dramatic fluctuations. Secondary data from Office of National Statistics is used for analysis. The study concludes that there was a huge increase in the prices of sanitizers, close to 400%, which created a dramatic impact on the sales of the company.

INTRODUCTION
This study is related to the impact of price
change on the high demanded products
during the covid scenario as well as the post
covid scenario. The starting of the first lock
down was around March, 2020 which
showed that there was drastic increase in the
price of the hand sanitizers. The reason
behind the inflate prices has backed of their
customers which is adding to their distress at
a time of certain vulnerability. The major
reason of choosing this topic “Online
changes in the prices during the lock down in
UK – Sanitizers” to understand the price
speculation which occurred during the pre
and post covid phase.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above
details there was a huge amount of
increase in the prices of the
sanitizers. The increase amounted
close to 400% percent which created
a dramatic impact on the sales of the
company. The organization which
were selling sanitizers made a huge
profit but eventually the customers
got shifted towards the alternatives
to save the huge amount of costs.

> RESULTS AND FINDINGS
• The data ascertained from the
website of Office of financial
statistics is that there is a drastic
fluctuation in the prices of
sanitizers. The graph is available
above.
• It is clearly visible in the graph that
there is a massive increase in the
prices of sanitizers with a huge
margin of approximately 400 per
cent.
• The cost of the bottled sanitizer
increased from £1 in January
directly to £5 in the mid- March.
