Purpose of the Project Charter
The purpose of the project charter is to provide a brief summary of the project being carried
out by Victoria University Information System Consulting for Yes Chemist Pty Ltd. The
charter fulfils the purpose of including the high-level project requirements. It also serves the
purpose of providing the information on schedule and cost details for the project. Quality is
one of the primary characteristic that is essential for the project and the charter includes the
key quality attributes as well.
Project summary
VUISC is a firm that is based out of Melbourne and provides information system consulting
to its clients. VUISC has taken up a project for Yes Chemist Pty Ltd, a pharmaceutical firm
based out of Melbourne with its operations in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and
Melbourne. The project is to implement and deploy SAP S/4HANA for SAP Business All-in-
One for the client.
The objectives of the project are:
 To implement and configure SAP S/4HANA for SAP Business All-in-One for the
client.
 To adhere to the estimated schedule and budget for the project.
 To accomplish the project with the key quality attributes

Project Requirements
The requirements for the project are the installation and configuration of SAP S/4HANA for
SAP Business All-in-One for Yes Chemist Pty Ltd. The project also includes the requirement
of providing the training to the end-users on the modules as finance, HR, and analytics
(Davis, Hickey and Zweig, 2007).
Major Deliverables/Milestones
 Project Charter: The document will provide a brief summary of the project being
carried out by Victoria University Information System Consulting for Yes Chemist
Pty Ltd. It will also include the high-level project requirements, schedule, and budget
details.
 Project Plan: The deliverables will be a detailed plan for the project that will include
the project approach, details of the project scope, risk management plan, stakeholder
management plan, communication plan, detailed schedule and budget, change
management plan, and quality management plan (Zwikael and Globerson, 2004).
 Implementation Plan: The document will include the details of the implementation
methodology that will be used to implement and install SAP system for the client
(Mohapatra and Sreejesh, 2014).
 Training Plan: The training plan will include the training schedule and details for the
sessions to be organized for the end-users.
 Test Plan: There will be test processes that will be conducted along with the user
acceptance testing.
 Defect Report: The report comprising of the details of the bugs and defects that occur
during the testing activities.
 Change Request(s): The formal request for making changes in the project will be
approved by the project client.
 Closure Report: It will be the final deliverable that will consist of the details of the
project activities executed by the project team, lessons learned, and areas of
improvement.

Project Charter will be submitted and approved.
Phase 2: Project
Planning
The requirements analysis, project estimations, and planning will
be done in this phase.
Task 4: Requirements
Gathering
The requirements will be gathered through interviews,
observations, domain analysis, and barnstorming sessions.
Task 5: Requirements
Analysis
Automated tools will be used to analyse the information sets
gathered.
Task 6: Project
Estimations
The estimations on scope, budget, and schedule will be made.
Task 7: Project Plan
Preparation
Project plan document will be prepared covering the resource
details, risk & communication planning, quality attributes, and
project estimates
Milestone 2: Project Plan Project Plan will be submitted and approved.
Phase 3: Project
Execution
The installation and configuration of the SAP systems will be
done in this phase.
Task 8: Data Conversion
and Migration
The legacy data of Yes Chemist Pty Ltd will be converted and

configured as per the environment of the client.

The legacy data and services will be migrated to the new system.
Phase 4: Control The monitoring and control of the project will be done in this

Functional, non-functional, and user acceptance testing will be
done and the defects will be logged.

Implementation
The implementation of the SAP system will be done.

Reports
Test Reports will be published.
Phase 5: Closure The final project activities will be conducted in this phase.
Task 15: User Trainings The users will be given trainings on the finance, HR, and
analytics modules.

Associated Quality Attributes
Quality is one of the most significant factors that will be required to be maintained in the
project. There are certain quality attributes that must be adhered to so that the overall quality
of the project is maintained. The quality issues that may come up during the project are as
listed below.
 Inability to maintain and adhere to the quality standards as Total Quality Management
and Six Sigma (Milunovic and Filipovic, 2013).
 Presence of open issues and bugs in the SAP system as the time of final delivery
leading to deterioration of user experience.
 Performance issues in the system resulting in enhanced response and throughput time.
 Overrun of project schedule or budget
Duration
There will be a total of five phases in the project. The total duration for the project has been
estimated to be 108 days with the start date of the project as 13th September 2018 and the end
date as 11th February 2019. Each of the five phases will have a specific timeframe allotted to
them.
