SELF ANALYSIS 2
Introduction
The reflection report includes the assessment of my personal behaviour in account to conflict
management. Every individual possess distinct traits and characteristics. Some of these traits
and behaviour was hereditary while other generated thorough experience and exposure to the
environment (Amiot & Bastian, 2015). The traits and personality characterises determines
how the individual deals with the environment and problems of life (Girard et al., 2015).
Gaining a better understanding about personal self develops the chances of improvement in
future. It will also allow in effectively dealing with the conflict in an organizational setting
(Jalil et al., 2015).
Focusing on the report structure, the initial part includes the self-analysis. It involves the
application Johari Window and MBTI to gain a better and clear understanding. These tests
provide a detailed analysis of personal behaviour (Furnham & Crump, 2015). It also involves
the detailed description of personal strengths and weakness. The second section comprises of
two examples of conflict experiences in which I have failed to manage conflict. It also
includes possible plans to gain better understanding in managing future conflict. The key
purpose of the self-reflection report is to emphasize on personal assessment to gain better
understanding for conflict management in future. It provides a chance to improve personal
identity, attitude, personality trait and behaviour in terms of conflict management.
Self-analysis
Self-analysis refers to analysis of one’s motive and behaviour and character (Strauss, 2017).
There are multiple cultures and I belong to the western cultural background. I show positive
response towards group affiliation in terms of distinct cultural. I have higher connection with
individuals belonging to different cultural. I possess fine interpersonal relation with my peer
groups. I have a friend named name of a friend. She belongs to the Islamic culture. I have
assessed that a high degree of variation prevails in our culture. I have come across that our
culture does not restrict short clothes but her do. She wears ‘hijab’ as it attains a high
significance in her culture. Based on my analysis I have assessed that our contrasting culture
are beautiful and distinct in their aspect. I experience a high influence of group affiliation on
my self-identity, behaviour and attitude. I do not loss my self-identity but I try to depict a fine
example of my culture. Additionally, I show more polite behaviour and learning attitude.

SELF ANALYSIS 3
With the application of Johari Window test, I am considered ‘friendly’. In blind spot, I am
perceived as mature, extrovert, idealistic and patient. I have assessed that I possess a caring,
friendly, observant, kind, and relaxed personality. Additionally, I have realized that am
adaptable and mature individual that show high degree of consciousness.
MBTI is Myers Briggs Type Indicator is a highly sued personality inventory test (Emre,
2018). The result of MBTI depicted that I am an introvert to a mediate level. I am highly
observant and lay prior attention in observing the minor happenings in my surroundings. I
have realized that most often I make decision from my heart. I lay high focus to be effective
in future and undertake similar approach.
I used to consider myself as an extrovert person. But my choices depicts that I am a more
introverted. This was highly surprising for me. The key thing that surprises me is that my
friend considers me idealistic. It was unbelievable for me.
I consider that my friendly personality will allow me to easily develop fine interpersonal
relation with my colleagues. My patience nature will assist me to remain calm in difficult
situations. My extrovert nature will also aid me in easily sharing my views and points to the
higher authority.
From my perception, my relaxing nature acts as a weakness for me. This is because
possessing this quality will develops the possibility that I might show delay in completion of
my work. Additionally, my senior will consider that I am not serious and devoted towards my
duty and work in the organization.
Conflict experience
SCENARIO 1
In my life experiences I have come across many situations where I was a part of conflicting.
There was group discussion held in the university. It was highly significant for us. This is
because we will be able to receive certification for qualifying the round. It will prove highly
helpful in our future career plan. There were multiple groups for the GD. We had a group of
five members in the first round. We were given a theme of ‘Globalization: A gift or a curse’.
Additionally, we were allotted a time of 25 minutes for a healthy discussion. I was an active
member of the GD. I have clearly shared my points and given real life examples of
companies and countries that benefitted from globalization. Due to high knowledge on this

theme I was unable to control myself to share my views. I had successfully passed the first
round. At the end of the first round, a member named ‘name of any of your friend’ has
showed arrogance towards me. On being asked for such behaviour, he told me that I had not
given him a chance to share his views in GD. Additionally, he blame me for his poor score in
GD. This behaviour made me lost my patience. In return, I have putted my counter argument
and left from there.
I have acknowledged an interpersonal conflict. The reason of conflict was not
providing a chance to another person to share his views.
According to my perception, the conflict was arisen due to differences in personality.
The individual was highly introverted as compared to me. From my perception and
results from Johari Window and MBTI.
In similar situation, I will opt for avoiding conflict resolution strategy. It involves
avoiding and ignoring the situation. This is because it develops the duty of the
participant to seek the attention of judges and raise his point in Group Discussion.
This is a competition and I have not taken his chance but he has not fought for his
chance due to his introvert personality.
SCENARIO 2
Previously, I worked in an organization named ‘name of any local company of your region’. I
was engaged in solving customer queries. There I was assigned a mentor to assist me in my
work. He was my senior in the organization. Due to less knowledge about the organization
and work, I used to frequently ask questions to him. This is because I want to complete my
work without any error. On one fine day, I was raising my query to that senior. Instantly, he
became irritated and scolded me for raising so many queries. He added that because of my
queries he was not able to concentrate on his work. This has highly affected me and I had
requested my team leader to change my mentor. This has made my relation worst with my
old mentor. I failed to improve my relation with my old mentor. It had given rise to awkward
working environment.
My dependency on my mentor has developed the conflicting situation between us. It
was also an interpersonal conflict.
Based on my nature, I do not lay high focus on thinking. This is viewable from MBIT
test. Because of I show less attention towards thinking. Additionally, I consider that
my less awareness about working in an organization has also developed this conflict.

SELF ANALYSIS 5
If I pass with similar situation in future, I will take a better approach. I will opt for
collaborating form of conflict management strategy. It will develop a list of all
possible questions and ask my mentor at the end of the working day. Through this I
will be able to solve my queries and it will not distract my mentor from his work.
In an organization setting, I will rely on collaborating, compromising and accommodating
conflicting management style (Prause & Mujtaba, 2015). Opting for avoiding and competing
strategy will develop negative work environment (joo et al., 2015). Therefore, I will highly
avoid their usage in my future career base.
Conclusion
The report summarizes the personal assessment in the context of conflict management. From
the above discussion, it is acknowledged that every individual possess different behaviour
and qualities. It is analyzed that I possess friendly and calm personality. Additionally, I am
highly observant and prospecting by my nature. I have analyzed that that I have experiences
some conflicts in my past life. They emerged due to difference in personality style and due to
less awareness. By considering my result, I have assessed that I am a need for improvement
to effectively manage the conflicts. Hence, it concludes that conflicts can be managed if
suitable strategies were used.
