SWOT ANALYSIS
Strengths
My major strengths are commitment and dedication which help me in driving towards my
goals. Good communication skills help me in dealing with different kinds of people. I have got
adequate health and childcare experience which can assist me in the fundraising project for a
primary school.
Weakness
I have lack of persuading, influencing and negotiating skills. I am little cautious while
doing public speaking. It is also difficult for me to manage the time. Creativity and innovation
are also not there, which is a weak point for me.
Opportunities
The degree taken in BA will help in my professional development. Gaining learning
about problem solving techniques can assist me in making sound decisions. Through practising
time management, priorities can be assigned.
Threats
Missing the important deadlines and lack of motivation can hamper the results. Use of
inappropriate leadership style can also lead to demotivation for the team. Further, it also includes
pressure of following the legislation of different acts such as Equality Act 2010, Children Act
2004 and Data Protection Act 1998.
SELF-ASSESSMENT
Self-assessment is regarded as the process of looking at oneself in order to assess the
aspects which are important to one’s identity (Beausaert and et.al., 2013). Through this process,
an individual can realize what he has got, where he is lacking and what he can achieve. It is very
important for professional as well as personal development.
EXPERIENCE
I am a hardworking, friendly and approachable person. Commitment and dedication
along with inner drive help me in accomplishing my goals. I have got a diverse range of health
and childcare experience. I need to boost up my CV and want to acquire a bachelor degree in the
field of health and social care. As a part of the course, I need to develop a project and my

placement will start as a volunteer in a primary school. I want to work with fundraising team in
order to develop, plan and organize school events. I also need to perform different activities for
raising support and money for the school. Further, I will be giving individual support through
social development, health & safety and learning achievements. On the basis of experienced
gained in health and social care, I need to engage the minds of children and work with them in a
collaborative manner. Focus will also be paid on promoting their individual rights, equality,
choice and empowerment for good learning behaviour.
SKILLS
Commitment & dedication – These two are my major strengths which drive me towards
accomplishing my goals and objectives.
Patience - My ability to stay calm will help me in playing a valuable role in the care of children.
Change – I will be able to think of new methods for helping children in becoming socially
responsible. I need to engage the minds of children and work with them in a collaborative
manner.
Conflict resolution – Each conflict is an opportunity and a challenge, hence, I will be
establishing boundaries around them.
Communication – I am a good communicator and I am confident in dealing with different kinds
of people from all walks of life.
IT and word processing skills – These skills are required for managing the activities of
fundraising project for the primary school. Further, these will be needed in planning and
organizing the different events within the school.
WORK BASED THEORY
Inter-professional work based theory can be used for completing the proposed project of
primary school. It is mainly used in the teaching of healthcare professionals. It is mainly used in
the field of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry (Forsyth, 2013). It occurs when professionals learn
with, from and about each other in order to improve the collaboration and quality of care.
Kolb’s learning cycle
The Kolb’s learning model includes four experimental learning styles.

Concrete experience – It shows the willingness of learner to get engaged in the work
deliberately. I will be deliberately working for the health and social care of children.
Reflective observation – It is about spending more time with the experts in order to learn new
things (Panayotopoulou, Vakola and Galanaki, 2007). I will be travelling to the client’s home
and will try to gain learning through analysing their behaviour.
Abstract conceptualization – It is about developing analytical skills on the acquired experiences.
I need to learn general problem solving techniques as it will improve my abilities on making
crucial decisions.
Active experimentation – It is about testing own skills (Gomez-Mejia, Balkin and Cardy, 2014).
At the time of my placement, I will be focusing on developing conflict resolution skills within
the kids. They will be encouraged to talk about their needs and feelings.
LEADERSHIP STYLE
Currently, I am using an autocratic leadership style for the functioning of operations.
However, I need to bring changes in the style as it is not delivering appropriate results. The plan
is to use the combination of participative and situational leadership (Zepeda, 2011). Participative
approach will help in involving all the people collectively within the project and situational
approach will teach me how to take valid decisions as per the demand of situation. As a
volunteer, I will be taking suggestions and opinions from people. I will be guiding the children
and working with them in a collaborative manner.
KNOWLEDGE OF LEGISLATION USE
I need to acquire knowledge related to the use of legislation within the health and social
care industry. I will be promoting the individual rights, choices and empowerment with regard to
the primary school. Hence, all the legislative codes and practices will be followed such as
Equality Act 2010, Children Act 2004, and Data Protection Act 1998.
CONFLICT RESOLVING
I am a good communicator and also confident in dealing with people from all walks of
life. I have the ability to develop conflict resolution skills in the children. I need to encourage
them so that they can talk about their needs and feelings. Presence of conflict resolving skills

will help in solving all their queries and complains with regard to the health care. It is essential
because each conflict is an opportunity and a challenge.
