INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to set of those skills and capability which an individual
required in order to get a job and perform well at their job role. For enhancing the employability
skill, it is crucial for an individual to remain focused toward self-development practices where
they must try to regularly evaluate current skills level and work toward enhancing it a level more
(Afanasyev and et. al., 2019). The current report is based on this concept of self-development in
order to create employability skills for getting prepared for future jobs. This report contains
description about twelve class room activities and their importance in developing the
employability skills.
MAIN BODY
How activities contribute toward development of employability
In academic life of a student there are number of chances are given to them with the help
of class room activities for the development and growth which support in near future. These
classroom activities remain a part of coursework and as such activities that I attempt under my
module of self-development and responsibilities. There are number of activities that get
performed during this module that support in enhancing the skills such as presentation, academic
skills, references, reading exercise, numeracy exercise, determining development need, action
plan for improvement, group development, CV writing and many more. These all classroom
activities contribute a lot in improving and developing my employability skills that will be very
much helpful in my future job (Cottrell, 2019). This is so because by participating in these
classroom activities I become able to learn about the role of team work and manner in which a
group actually form which provide me understanding regarding the manner in which I have to
behave and perform in order to form up a effective team. Other than this I also become able to
develop my presentation skill which is consider to be one of the most effective practices as per
the concept of job as it help an individual to represent their ideas in more effective manner. After
that I also learnt how to evaluate and identify the need of personal and professional development
as well as ways to improve them by developing an action plan. Other than this the most
important think which I learnt from this module is about the basic interview questions that are
being asked to an aspirant and manner in which it must be answered. This will support me in
developing my mindset regarding way in which I have to behave while attempting for an
interview so that I could present myself as a personality which company like to hire. Hence, it

can be said that these classroom activities support me a lot in developing my employability skills
by preparing me in a manner that help in getting the job and perform at best (Freeze and et. al.,
2019).
CONCLUSION
From the above-mentioned information, it can be said that class room activities plays a
significant role in developing an individually personally as well as professionally. This is so
because classroom activities are mainly performed under the guidance and support of lecturers
who make an individual [prepare about the behaviour which they must exert and also guide over
their weaknesses so that it can be improve further for getting a better job.

Presentation skills
Presentation skills is that skills which an individual required in order to deliver the
message or information effectively among larger number of audiences. This skill represents a
capability of a person to present themselves in front of larger number of people and convey them
a information in a manner in which he actually wants too. The presentation skills is a crucial for
performing well at workplace as there are several actions that an individual is required to
perform while executing work and at the same he/she also required to represent their ideas
among people. Therefore, through the help of class room activities performed in this model I
become able to learn about several factors or skills that are required in order to become an
effective presenter to which people wants to listen. These mainly includes communication, body
language, listening skills, presence of mind etc. which support an individual to remain confident
while presenting their ideas and at the same time remain attentive so that queries of the people
listening to them can be resolved. From this activity, I learnt that for capturing attention of
people I have to make eye contact, create slide more creative with more graphics and less words,
add explanatory speaker notes etc. So, with all these learnt lesson I try to develop my
presentation skills so that I would be able to perform well in future.

Academic writing skills
The academic writing skill is considered to be more crucial skill for a student as it helps in
writing the project in more professional manner and in getting good grades. Under this module,
we provided with information regarding set of rule and guidelines that must be followed while
writing a project. Other then this tutor also provided me with some tips to perform well in
academic writing such as reading and understanding the requirement of project first, then study
about the content from several sources and by understanding the content effectively write it in
own word without being copying some another person’s views.

With in academic writing, reference plays a significant role in presenting the accuracy and
reliability of work done. With the help of referencing the sources through which data is collected
one can provide the evidence of work and keep themselves save from a plagiarism issue. This

issue of plagiarism is consider as academic misconduct and hence consider as the major concern
of university. Hence, through this module I learnt about the importance of referencing, how to
formulate it and manner in which work of another person is being represent with the help of
references.

The reading skills are very much important for a student as reading exercise help them in
improving their language proficiency, improving their vocabulary and provide a better
understanding about a particular subject matter. This module remains very much helpful to me as
it provided me with adequate understanding regarding ways to develop my reading skills, so that
my assessment get complete in set s=duration. This supported me a lot in systematically
understanding eth coursework effectively and will also support in gaining good marks. Further
reading skills also support me in future job role by helping me in understanding plan laid down
by higher management so that I can work over it effectively.

Numeracy exercise refers to an individual’s capability to deal with numbers so that

This is one of the crucial practices that each individual knows to operate and implement on
themselves so that they would be able to get their personal development done at both personal as
well as professional level. This skill support an individual to regularly evaluate their skills and
capabilities to determine the extent to which they improve their skills and at the same time the
area that left behind so that a better action plan can be form toward recovering them and
fulfilling the need of personal as well as professional development. Through this module, I have
learnt that an individual must always try to evaluate their strength and weaknesses to determine

The skills and knowledge development is consider to be most crucial for every individual
as it support them in performing well and differentiating one from that of another person. The
possession of appropriate knowledge and skills help an individual to perform their role and
responsibility in more effective manner and prove themselves for further growth. For this an
individual must perform a personal assessment to determine the area of improvement and on the
basis of it further action must be created regarding the work to be done in order to improve these
skills and capabilities. This action plan support in improving skills and capabilities that will

Belbin Team Roles and Stages of Group Development
Team working skills is consider as the foundation for each job role as nothing get
performed alone. This skill support an individual to perform well while they are assigned with a
group project, as it develop a skill where individual become able to perform work co-ordinately
with other group members so mutual goal can be accomplished. During this coursework I
assigned with number of project in a group where tutor explained us and implemented the Belbin
team model which support us in forming up a strong group by moving stage by stage and
strengthening the bond and dynamics between the group mates. This was a great learning and
experience which support me in my future carer and help in performing the group role
effectively.

It is consider as an essential skill which enables a person to represent their skills, abilities
and qualifications in more effective manner. This skill is very important for an aspirant while
seeking for a job or attending an interview as it is a written presentation of capability that
individual hold so manner in which it is represented support a lot in forming a positive
impression.

Employability Skills (Interpersonal skills)
While attending this module, I become able to learnt about the importance of interpersonal
skills within professional life. It mainly includes verbal and non-verbal communication,
negotiation, listening abilities, decision-making, problem solving and more which are crucial for
both personal and professional development abilities, with the help of this an individual can
effectively deliver their project or task at workplace. While this module program, I have analysed
that with good interpersonal skills an individual can effectively achieve their personal and
professional goals. Other than this the verbal and non-verbal communication ability support an
individual in presenting their views either by speak or through paralanguage. Hence,
interpersonal skills support me in developing good relationship with my peer group, tutors and
team mates which in turn further help me in getting full guidance and support regarding my role
and responsibility so that I would be able to perform well.
