This report discusses the implementation of a smart application to monitor the movement and telemetry of trucks for AB Pty. Ltd. to overcome delivery challenges. Introduction
This report is going to discuss about the implementation of smart application to monitor the
movement and the telemetry of the trucks (Asrar-ul-Haq and Anwar 2016). AB Pty. Ltd is a company
that deals with delivering trucks and are facing problems with the increasing demand in the market.
The responsibility is to develop a smart application that will help the company.
Case study analysis
The AB Pty Ltd. is a delivery company and is having 3 trucks that is used for delivering the
products to their customers. But with the increase in demand the company is facing difficulty with
delivering the items. Due to less number of trucks, this is becoming difficult and is leading to delayed
delivery, complaints are increasing from the customer sides, pending deliveries.
Possible solutions
In order to overcome this process, the company can implement following measures:
1. Smart application can be used to control the truck movement
2. The working can be divided into time frames
3. Deliveries should be divided based on the priority
4. Speed limit should be set for every truck
Smart application features
The smart application is implemented, so that it can facilitate the organization to monitor
activities of their trucks (Nishiyama et al. 2015). The application is going to connect the vehicles, so
the activities can be traced. A visual dashboard is being implemented with the NODE-RED that will
describe the speed and will help to set the trucks speed. Also there will be a telemetry that will help
the company to understand the requirements.

Telemetry process is an automated communication process, in this data are collected at
remote and are further being transmitted for monitoring. According to me, it will help the company to
efficiently understand the information that are required to be visualised. This is an effective way of
collecting the data.
Data necessary for overcoming this problem
Five different new data elements that will help company to overcome the problem:
1. Increasing the number of trucks will help in easy delivering the product.
2. Delivery needs to be done based on the priority
3. The company should tell their customer the exact time that will be taken in delivering the
product
4. The smart application should contain a direct option to chat with the delivery executive, so
that they can get the knowledge about the status.
Challenges faced in developing the application
Developing an application for easy connecting the vehicles is the necessity of this
organization. But while developing this application several challenges are faced (Newman. and
Newman 2017). This includes:
1. Collection of data is difficult
2. Everyone within the organization, is not able to use these application. Thus it becomes a
challenge to teach them
3. The application crashed several times due to congestion.
Overcoming this challenges
In order to overcome the problems faced, the organization arranged, so that everyone can
understand the working of the application (Avgerou and Walsham 2017). The data collection method

divided into parts so that exact information can be gathered. In order to run the application smoothly,
several feedback sections were developed.
Conclusion
The above report discusses about the issue faced by the AB Pty Ltd. in meeting the
requirements of their clients. The company has developed strategies in order to meet the demands.
The company has decided to launch a smart application that will help in monitoring the activities of
the truck.
