Introduction:
Social justice can be perceived as primary aspects of sustainability in several ways.
Gender is one of the most significant social issue which the society is facing even today. Social
justice refers to the equality of every individual before law in the society irrespective of social
status. Social justice also mentions that individuals should act towards benefitting the
environment and should abstain from committing crime (irishtimes.com, 2018). The essay would
delve into the unhealthy conditions in which the low income residents are forced to live in due to
limited financial capabilities and how social justice can help to deal with this issue.
Analysis:
An environmental aspect of sustenance is important to establish social justice in the
urban. Social justice can play play a significant role in ensuring environmental sustainability in
the urban communities (Lawal, Ayoade & Taiwo, 2016). According to Meyers and Vallas
(2016), the urban areas are ridden with different types of environmental problems. The high rates
of pollution of water, air and land create health hazards in the cities. The rich people often settle
in the locations with the best of facilities while the low income pollution are forced to settle in
the less developed and unhygienic areas. These areas where the low income people often suffer
from environmental issues like sewage disposal and drainage issues. These factors encourage
spread of diseases among these less rich urban residents. They cannot expensive health treatment
facilities and suffer due to the diseases. Social justice can help in solving this issue of unhealthy
living conditions of the lower class residents in the urban communities. This would promote
sustainability in the urban environment and help to improve the living conditions of these people.
