Social media is playing a crucial role in creating awareness between various people,
society and nations regarding ethical as well as unethical content. In fact, it is a tool that is
designed to link people from different regions. With the help of this, people can share their ideas,
views, and products in front of the entire nation. However, in recent times it has been seen
certain issues that also arise because of social media which has shaped negative impacts on the
mind of several people. A sensationalism problem is nowadays creating primary concern for the
society because it is a type of editorial techniques in mass media (Ross and Myers, (2017). There
is a tendency of the press to play up and dwell on a specific story that is more sensational such as
domestic violence, kidnappings, and workplace hazards in nursing practices and so on. A recent
news story by nursing times reported that nursing staff on a stoke-on-tent pilot mission were
using Facebook in order to encourage breast screening services. Henceforth, this essay throws
highlight on these issues that is related to the culture.
B. Articulating the issue
According to the survey report, the current 45 million social media users are currently
using different sources of media to collect specific information. However, on average, everyday
users tend to spend 1 hour and 50minutes scrolling by social media sites. Out of different
sources, Facebook remains the leading player with 87% of all internet users registered with the
platform. Whereas social media has come into account as a good deal of criticism over the past
few years for their supposed negative impact on society, there is no doubt it can also be an
effective way to remain connected with the domestic as well as international people. The primary
objective of this Facebook social application is to take maximum advantage of issues that are
related to the cultural aspects of society. The above issue program saw an uptake in initial
attendance with sufficient growth by 12.9%. This social media has done a remarkable job in
encouraging these issues in between plenty of people. The authors define cultural competence by
using a social media base on a literature review of the nursing issues. An innovative framework
for evaluating cultural competence in health care and how it interacts at various stages of nursing
practices was developed.
