It is analysed that in Australia, child abuse is running at
a high rate. It is identified that aboriginal children face
many challenges in their life. It is found that aboriginal
children face seven times more likely to become the
part of child abuse as compared to non-Aboriginal
children (Douglas and Fitzgerald, 2018). Child abuse is
referring to the activities which includes psychological,
sexual and physical ill treatment. It is very important
topic for the society that they should take necessary
measures for removing child abuse from the roots of
society. It helps in developing humanity in society. It is
performing by parent or caregiver which becomes the
result in potential harm to the child. It is against human
as well as fundamental rights. In Australia, there are
many children who belong to Aboriginal countries face
situations of maltreatment
Impact of child abuse or maltreatment on Aboriginal
communities: According to Collings and et. al., 2018 it is
analysed that day to day increase in child abuse cases in
Australia. Every year it is rise with the number of 115471.
This statistic is disclosed by Australian Institute of Health and
Welfare (AIHW). Because of continuing increasing in number
of child abuses cases, it directly gives negative impact on
society. Aboriginal communities face many issues because of
this as they didn’t received facilities which normal people
received. It gives negative impact as it destroys the humanity
from society. Because of this issue, children suffer from
depressions, they are getting fear from people. It destroys the
positive impact and attitude of society. It reduces the chances
of development of society as well as economic. One of the
main reasons of low growth rate of Australia is their social
issue.
