Introduction
My lot in life is the issue of mobile addiction. The challenge has affected my life in the sense that
I am not able to offer apt parenting skill needed as a parent. Basically, mobile addiction has been
identified as a common challenge to most of the parents thus incapable to offer adequate
parenting services to their children. To me, I am always busy operating my mobile phone up to
the extent that I lack adequate time to perform my daily routines at home. Researchers argue that
most of the parents check their phone every 15 minutes or even less but on my side, it is worse
since I cannot stay for more than 3 minutes without checking my phone. This issue has affected
my life so much since I always spent a lot of time watching and chatting with my friends thus
lacking a little time to offer parenting roles.
A clear plan of action articulated to solve the problem
In order to handle the issue of mobile phone addiction, I have decided to follow the following
strategies. Each action plan strategy used has an effective solution for the real problem. Some of
the action plans include;
Keeping myself on a serious schedule.
This is the most strategy that helps someone to wean away from the use of a mobile phone. I
have been following a serious schedule whereby I always set an alarm that notifies me when to
check my phone within a day. When the alarm sounds, I always spend less than 2 minutes then
after that I reset the timer on when to check my mobile phone.
Turning off the notification when possible

When parenting I don't want interruption from the phone and that's why I have decided to be
always turning off as many notifications on my phone when possible (Schiano, Burg, Smith &
Moore,2016). The main thing is to have adequate time for parenting hence avoiding disturbance
form the phone. Nowadays, I have left notifications on for email but all chats and app
notifications I have been turning off all the time so as to secure adequate time for parenting.
Deleting the distracting apps in my phone
Some of the distracting apps in my phone such as Facebook and Instagram have been distracting
me to an extent that I lack time for parenting. In order to reduce the interruption form the phone,
I have decided to take distracting apps off my home screen. Through this, I can smoothly without
any disturbance from notifications on the phone.
Community agencies
Some of the local community agencies which I have consulted for help include;
Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr).
The agency helped me in knowing the health effects associated with mobile addiction. In
addition the agency provides quality healthcare as indicated in their catalogue. The consultation
fee was $ 50 although it depends on the impacts of the issues indicated in their receipt. One can
contact the agency via their email (healthfinder@hhs.gov). Through the agency, I have learned
how to create adequate time to perform my parenting duties.
American Public Health Association (APHA)
The agency educates public on parenting roles and also other social issues such as health care
issues. The agency charges $ 45 as the consultation. One can contact APHS via their main phone
