INTRODUCTION
Academic and research skills help in improving our own abilities as well as knowledge. It
also develop their skills and talents for the growth of life (Cannella-Malone and Schaefer, 2017).
Learning should be continuous as it will help in developing various skills in ourself in a effective
and efficient way. Making a personal development plan help in carrier growth. In this report, I
will analyse my own strength and weakness which reflect on my learning along with that also
determine SMART for checking my own progress. Note taking are the skills key points and after
that research is conducted for collecting information.
TASK 1
It is important for particular person to know about their strength as well as weakness so
that they can improve themselves. With this, developing a personal plan will help them in taking
a effective decisions along with that it will help in the growth of their career as well as improve
the quality of life within a limited period of time (Fouad and Santana, 2017). By this plan, it will
help in meeting our own objectives and targets respectively. Knowing own strength and
weakness will aid in developing a quality of life and career as well. It can be accomplished by
doing a subject research as well as collect all the information and analysed them for knowing my
abilities and skills. Some of my strength and weakness are given below:
Strength Communication skills: I am having a strong skills of interacting with other people. It help
in growth of my career life and enhancing my own knowledge by interacting with other
peoples. These skills help me in interacting with other peoples share my own views with
them and listening their views will help me in gaining more knowledge. Active listening skills: While interacting with peoples I like to listen other views also it
help me in gaining more knowledge and others view points help me in thinking at a high
level. Active listening help me in living in a present situation. Leadership skills: I can able to make my team work effectively by coordinating with one
another as well as motivate them for giving their best level of performance within the
company. I sometimes give targets to all team members and create a competition within
each other so that it will aid in enhancing the level of productivity.

 Honesty: I agree with the statement that “Honesty is the best policy” it help me in making
a trust with my workers is very important for motivating them in a very good manner. I
maintain honesty so that my team members trust on me and coordinate within me on
accomplishing of given task within a span of time.
Weakness Negative attitude: I am having a negative attitude and I have to make my attitude in an
positive way so that it will enhance my thinking level. It makes me feel so sad so it is
important to develop a positive attitude within myself so that it will make my mind to
take a every situation in an positive way. Sensitive: I am very much sensitive is my major problem which break my concentration
level towards my work and I want to overcome with my this weakness as possible as I
can for the growth of my career. It is important to ignore unnecessary things for keeping
away of sensitive behaviour. Time management and stress: It is sometimes difficult for me to manage the time as per
my work when having a lot of work load I get stress and cant able to manage my work
on time effectively. It has to be developed so that I can accomplish my work properly
without any stress.
SMART objectives
 I want to learn basic skills of tally within 6 months.
 Developing a positive attitude as well as managing skills as possible as I can.
 I also want to make improvements in the skills of problem solving help me in resolving
conflicts arises within team work.
 Properly management of time for managing all the activities or functions appropriately.
 I want to enhance my skills of computer at a high level within 1 year.
TASK 2
Note-taking
It is an practice of maintaining records information from different sources. It is a form of
maintain a self discipline (Commodore and et. al 2017). Their should make a note-taking for
knowing the things and important points for long lasting. By using various strategies they can
make a note-taking it may be active listening skills or writing skills.
Some of key points of using active listening skills

 They should know some of common abbreviation words which are used by them.
 What ever you are hearing rephrase it as it will speed up your note-taking. In this ongoing
basis, improving their work by their vocabulary. They never have to think about words at
a time of making a notes-taking. After speaker or lecture event, make your notes, which provide you the opportunities. If
you are listening it carefully then it keep that information for a long term within our
memory.
Some of key points of using a reading skills
 They have to keep concentrating while reading.
 Maintain a record of whatever you read for locating them again.
 Engage more proper whatever you read.
 Draw relations with others research. Think and evaluate typically whatever you read.
Strategies of Note-taking Cornell Method: This approach is very famous note-taking techniques within today's
students. This is divided into three parts like as general area, notes in the margins and
develop a short summary (Marek, Schaufeli and Maslach, 2017). As to keep records of
necessary ideas covered by teachers during lectures, after that notes should be made
within margins and then summary of notes.
 Split page method: It is similar as Cornell Method it is a principle of itself. In this they
made divisions of pages into two parts. A primary and secondary ideas. At a time of
notes-taking, you are conducting everything continuously. It need some of adjustment but
in a long run, it will aid in better use of their study times at a time of using notes.
TASK 3
Organisation is going to conduct a research within a marketplace. Hence, it will assist in
gathering data and information by using various sources of research in an effective manner. Data
collection help in getting lots of information through different sources which aid in doing a
research in an effective manner. This will aid in taking a effective and efficient process of
making decisions of companies functions and activities. Research will also help in analysing
competitors within a marketplace for achieving objectives and goals of business. Their are
various methods of research which are explained in detail below:

Primary research
Primary data is also known as raw data are gather from various sources. This kind of
information are directly collected by the peoples. Their are various primary sources for doing a
research in an effective way. Some of primary research are experiments, observation and surveys
are the ways of collecting fresh information which will be accurate and very much useful in this
research (Goedhart and et. al 2017). Benefits of doing this research is it has a limited bias of
subjective, natural behaviour of team is recorded and data is not affected by future intension and
disadvantages of this research is it is a very expensive methodology, data and information which
is given is very much limited and unforeseen factors can interface with observational work.
Secondary research
In this, data are gathered by someone other that users. These data are already analysed as
well as available by someone. Some of various ways of gathering secondary data information
and data like as through newspapers, magazines, trade journals, published or unpublished data.
Advantages of secondary collection of data is that it is less time consuming, no need of experts
and ethical as well as trustable practices and disadvantages of this method is sometimes
informations are reliable, not customized and lack of data (O'Leary, 2017).
Research plan
It covers the whole doctoral dissertation. If the material change as well as research topic
sustainability, a fresh plan which are made. If the modifications are approval and significant
should have sought from facility. Some of steps of doing a research plan are as follows:
 Starting points as well as theoretical basis of a research plan, existing research.
 Purpose of research, ethical issues, research work and questions.
 Research data a well as methods, management of data.
 Planning of work, working plan is a part of all work.
 Funding and schedule plan.
 Publication plan.

For developing personal and professional skills they have to attend different conferences, group
activities and seminars (Michalak, Rysavy and Wessel, 2017). I also have to analyse my

weakness and have to develop them by making a personal development plan for improving my
own weaknesses. Hence, there are various ways of developing personal skills as well as it aid in
enhancing a level of performance within company along with that these things aid in earning
high productivity and profits also. These skills help in making a growth within career. Therefore,
it is necessary to find out skills which should develop in ourself in an effective way.

skills for the growth of my career. Their are various skills used some are already within peoples
and some have to develop for enhancing a particular person. I have to analyse my own strength
and weaknesses and try to make a personal development plan for eliminating my weakness and
enhance my level of skills for developing a career and quality of life. In this, also gather that of
research are primary and secondary research of collecting a data along with that also make a plan
of research and also discuss about note-taking and various strategies of Note-taking. Also
mention the key points of reading and learning skills.
