TASK 2
Discussing data (to be completed in week 6)
(Word count: 300 words)
Part I: Presenting data
Paste the graph you used in the tutorial here and give it a title. Graphs will be uploaded on the Academic
Skills page on GSM Learn. Remember to write a full Harvard or OSCOLA reference for it and add a title.

Part II: Analysing data – Compulsory in-class task (ACSK tutorial, week 6)
Write a handwritten paragraph in your week 6 tutorial class addressing the areas in the box below.
Remember to refer to the graph/chart using correct OSCOLA or Harvard style in-text citation.
1. A description of your data (What is it? Where does it come from? What area is
it focussing on?).
The above graph shows that the Brexit effect on small medium enterprises of UK
have been positively effected as it is clearly shows that the employment rate has
been grown up from lowest in 2008 to the highest in 2018.Further the graph also
shows that their has been an increment the in the full-time growth opportunities.
Moreover, the graph represents that their has been decline in part-time jobs and
self employment and more people are shifting towards the full-time jobs which is
apparently reducing the underemployment issues.
2. A summary on what the data shows in general.
The impact of Brexit results in the social and economic on the small and medium enterprises of UK.
Moreover, the after Brexit the economic conditions in the UK has been improved as we can depict from
the graph that the major issue of underemployment has been decrease and more employment
opportunities have been generated which results in the development of the economic condition of the
country and the enterprises which are operating within that country.
3. One or two areas of the data looked at in detail and an explanation of why you
think they are significant.
The above graph the employment area which have been positively effected by
improving the employment opportunities for small medium enterprises of UK.
Thus, in my opinion the increment in full-time jobs helps in improving the income
growth of the people which eventually improves the financial conditions of the
company. Thus, the increasing in full-time employment helps the company in
accomplishing their goals and increases its profitability.
4. The important trends and differences/comparisons in the areas you have
chosen.
The above graph shows that trend of full-time employment level has been
increased from the year 2008 which was very low to the increment of around
4000 employees in that sector in 2018.On the flip side the graph shows that the
self employment rate of the UK has been declined from highest in 2008 and to
lowest in 2018 because people are unable to find any work in order to set
business.
5. Possible explanations for what the data is showing (remember to reference
wider research to back your ideas up).
The above data shows the difference of growth in two areas of employment which
is full-time and self employment opportunities. Thus, the data depicts that the
Brexit have increased the full-time job opportunities for the people that means
huge population of the country has been shifted to full-time jobs and have
declined the trend of self employment. Thus, through this impact the economic

condition of the country have been enhanced which have ultimately increased
the income level of the people and the companies.
6. A recommendation for further action that could arise from this data.
As per my opinion, the people should participate in part-time jobs and self
employment business because if more and more people will shift towards the
full-time jobs then the scope of self employment business will reduce and thus
it will impact the illiterate people who are willing to do self employment but
due to decreasing trend they won't be able to initiate their own business which
will also negatively impact the economic condition of the people.

IMPACT ON DEMAND AND SUPPLY OF LABOUR
Academic Writing
Please type your report or essay in the box below (700 words, +/-10%).
The impact Brexit on UK employment is effective. Ever since the UK voted to leave
the EU, the number of migrants looking for jobs outside the UK have spiked up, says Indeed,
a leading job site. According to statistics, the UK’s unemployment rate is likely to increase to
6.5% due to recession, which is a loss equivalent to 500,000 jobs. As per the current report,
2.1 million European immigrants working in the UK.
In industries such as engineering, IT, and construction, where there are shortages of
skilled workers in the UK, immigrants from the European Union are filling the void by
bringing in vital skills. They are also a major contributor to the unskilled labour market
(Gartzou-Katsouyanni and et.al., 2018)
. According to OECD, the UK’s labour markets and enterprise sectors are among the least
regulated. There are conflicting views on whether there will be more positive or negative
effects after Brexit.
It has been analysed here that around 7% of the UK workforce is composed of EU
nationals that is 2.15 million. However, Brexit will affect the job securities or the nation as
there will be lack of skilled, trained, low income group as well as poor working conditions
affect the employment rate. Therefore, in this case it could be said that such factors would
have negative impact on the labour supply (Minford, 2019)
. Moreover, there have been various acts and laws has been created by UK and EU
government with reference to secure their employment rights.
As per considering the Equality Act 1998-2007, on which EU has presented the
guidelines that there must be equal pay-offs, working conditions as well as job related tasks.
However, each employee must have equivalent rights in the organisation as well as in relation
with retaining the adequate practices to the operations. Employment rights Act 1996, health
and safety at wor4k Act 1974 determines the roles and responsibilities of the employers
towards their employees in the country (Symes and Phillipson, 2019). However, in accordance
with such impact if the rights are not being secured satisfactorily than there must be
consideration over the fluctuations in the labour demand and supplies.

However, if UK leaves EU and Brexit incurred than there would be inadequate
changes in the political as well as operational growth in economy. There must be
ascertainment of the various factors such as bringing the healthy and safe working
environment, improving working conditions, social security, improving employment
contracts, assigning proper pay rolls which would have impacts on managing the demand and
supplied of labour market in the nation (Brown, Liñares-Zegarra and Wilson, 2019). The impact of
EFTA European union free trade agreements. In accordance with such trade agreement on
which there were proper benefits awarded to the organisation which are wishes to have free

Time management is the most important academic skill which is essential for the university students.
Moreover, time management means handling the time efficaciously so that proper time can be given
to each activity. However, time management skill can be developed by making the schedule based on
the priority of tasks which re to be completed on time and keeping those work aside which are not so
important. Further, time management skill is important for the university students as it enable them
to complete their tasks on time and help them to make spare time for other activities as well.
Moreover, the time management skill help the student to analyse which activity need more time and
which activity do not because wasting time on activities which are of lessor importance will lead to
waste of time and the student wont be able to concentrate on those activities which are very essential
for their own development.
This presentation briefly summarizes about the time management skill which is very important for the
development of the student and further it highlights about why the time management skill is essential
for the university student and how it helps them to develop their skills.
Questions:
1. According to you why time management skill is important?
2. How time management skill helps the student to complete their tasks?
