Introduction
Training is an exercise that aims at equipping new employees or the existing
employees with the actual knowledge and skills in order to boost performance in their fields
of work. Training focuses mostly on employee growth for better performance in the future.
Training staff gives the employer a chance to perfect the employee’s skills and thus
improving their working efficiency. Training helps to build staff to the highest levels thus
improving their knowledge of work. Training new hospital staff is vital as it exposes them to
know what is needed of them so as not to put the lives of patients in risk.
Staff training on data compliance
Data compliance is the process of making sure that the organizational data is in adherence
to the organization set rules and to the lawful regulations and authorization requirements.
Data compliance ensures that the organizational data abides by the organizational regulations
(Gavine, MacGillivray, Renfrew, Siebelt, Haggi, & McFadden, 2016).The training should
involve ways of making data to comply to the rules of the organization. For the case of
hospitals, the HIPAA rules need to be clear to new staff and work towards upholding and
protecting them ( Heckemann, Zeller, Hahn, Dassen, Schols, & Halfens, 2015).They include;
1. The security rule
HIPAA formulated the healthcare security rule which forms the standards for protecting
patient’s personal healthiness reports contained in the hospitals databases. HIPAA has an
application for self-evaluation that helps in understanding the security rule (Drolet, Marwaha,
Hyatt, Blazar, & Lifchez, 2017). The security rule focuses on;
i. Upholding integrity and the hospitals privacy
