The main reason of doing the current investigation is to take out the data about the
significance of talent management strategies in an organisation. It majorly covers major
information about the one of the best talent management strategies i.e. staff motivation
within an organisation. In this competitive world where every organisation is continuously
making efforts for making their business best (De Sousa Sabbagha, Ledimo and Martins,
2018). So, it makes company to motivate their talent in the workplace so that they can be
retained in the organisation for longer time period. I have selected talent management
strategies as topic because it is of great interest to me as it also covers data about the
different schemes and strategies of the motivation in an organisation. The primary reason to
conduct this research is to consider the conceptual framework of employees’ motivation as
one of an organization's talent management methods so that researcher can maintain their
career plan for the future development. Through this research study, researcher can easily
determine the effect of employee motivation programmes as a talent management technique
on Sainsbury's staff retention. With the help of this research, it will helpful to analyse the
Sainsbury's issues in the absence of talent management solutions in the workplace.

According to Sabbagha, Martins and Ledimo (2018), talent management is referred as the
significant strategy that facilitate whole organisation to control and manage their human
resource systematically and appropriately. In the practice of talent management within an
organisation, staff motivation is very necessary and essential part in the workplace. Staff
motivation is required energy, creativity and commitment that an organisation needs among
its workers. Motivating employee is necessary so that they can be encouraged and remain
aligned with the goals and targets of the organisation. In the procedure of motivating
employees, responsibilities and powers are delegated to them so that they can do their work
more responsibility and efficiency. The company also gives provides multiple employee
benefits such as exercise facilities, profit sharing, company cars, life-insurance, health care
and many more. It is being considered by the organisation for maintaining happy workforce
in the belief that happy workforce is motivated and encouraged employees. With the motive
of motivating employees, organisation creates learning environment, provide monetary
incentive, chance to employees for showing their ideas, innovations and creativity and so
on. Hence, motivating employees is one of the best methods to keep employees and
satisfied in the organisation.

employee retention within Sainsbury's?
According to Mamun and Khan (2020), it is very simple to understand that talent
management strategy is the practice that revolves around whole workforce of the company.
Motivating workforce also becomes significant in the organisation so that they can be
retained for longer time duration. The impact of staff motivation schemes as one of the
greatest talent management strategies has positive impact over the retention of workforce.
When employees are encouraged and motivated in the workplace, they develop mindset that
they will grow and develop in the same company and they make decision of giving their

efforts in the same organisation. Employees make decision of working in the same
organisation as they get chance of developing their skills and knowledge, they could easily
take participate in the decision making of organisation, get large number of benefits and
many more. Hence, there is positive impact of talent management strategies over the
retention level of the company.
What are the challenges faced by Sainsbury's in the absence of talent management
strategies in the workplace?
According toKools and et. al., (2019), talent management is one of the simple human
resource key terms one would come across. The practice of talent management is
committed towards hiring, retaining, managing, developing and retaining the most excellent
and talented employees in the whole industry. There are many challenges that are faced by
Sainsbury's in the absence of talent management strategies in the workplace are: one of the
challenges is not able to attract top talent. Without availability of talent management, the
company does not get talented and skilled employees. With the absence of top talent, the
organisation is not able to improve business results and performance. The other significant
challenge is decreased performance of employees. Without taking advantages of talent
management, companies do not get talented candidates and because of that performance of
existing employees also get decreased. In the absence of talent management strategies and
motivation schemes, employees are not able to retain their existing and potential employees.
This negatively impacts the image of the organisation in the market among different
number of competitors.
Research Gap
According to Williams et al. (2015), studies have revealed that leadership style and
organizational growth are significant aspects of employee retention and staff motivation.
Corporate leaders and stakeholders are becoming g more interested in participative
management, and they want their subordinate managers to do all possible to keep employee
engagement high. The covid-19 epidemic, on the other hand, has created massive shifts in
faraway work and has altered the conventional office landscape for quite some time.
However, the amount to which this change occurs is a matter of debate. Some prominent
corporations need employees to work from home for a few more months.
