Mark & Spencer is British owned company with its headquarter in London. M&S visions
is to satisfy the customers requirement and its main mission is to provide quality products. M&S
done its main business is retailing in clothing and home products, food materials, also own its
bank. In this report, the information relevant to strategy along with its strategic tools to
examine the method of development by M&S. The leadership style that follow in M&S or
management models to evaluate the strategy implementation. Lastly, the future sustainability
or recommendations for M&S will be elaborate.
1: Information about the M&S relevant to its strategy.
Marks and Spencer is leading multinational company in UK as well around the world.
The company also has large market history in UK market. There are 1000 stores located in UK
market and 400 stores located in worldwide. The company have employees around 74
thousands among this majority of employee are females working in various stores. M&S
revenue is retailing with clothing and food, and later they have greater segments in food with
6,028.2 furthermore shopping online delivering grocery through having partnership with
Ocado. The firm have main focused on employee retention along with that implement the
culture of excellence which further stabilized their reputation having proper quality of products.
Sometime company enables to develop a firm while by attracting more customer and greater
satisfaction in elements (Kyrylov and et.al., 2020). Company has high end of customer for
clothing as well as in food segments, moreover they are willing to pay them at having premium
price. On lower end, the price of buyers are so sensitive and M&S will stand up in high risk of
losing market share to organization while by offering similar price of products. The industry in
which company operates they have to keep some innovation line for changing customer

performance. In clothing and home products company have huge amount of profits 3209.1
dollar, but highlighting company stores in cities had struggle due to pandemic, sales down with
52% compare 24% of reduction in retailing park. M&S recorded for having better reputation
with the development of quality of products, innovation while by adopting advance technology.
Offering reasonable price to customer who have value of money.
2: Methods of Development
Marks and Spencer offering online services to their customer and dealing with Ocado.
For launching plan online services they are required to pay 1 billion for food delivering.
Company has taken replacement from Waitrose and started dealing with Ocado as key partner
and purchasing vans, lorries and various distribution centre for online delivering business. M&S
have completed years while offering food delivering along with known for its quality. They have
developed more in food mall after more sales in clothing and home products. As stores become
reliant in delivering food products furthermore make them strong for their developing internal
as well external environment (Lavorata and Sparks, 2018). Ocado has tie up M&S for providing
their customer food delivering as per their demands and needs. Company continuously offering
the best experience to customer in buying clothing, home products as well. In dealing with
online food products company has benefits from their customer satisfaction, and they have also
used various strategies for making their company more developed. John Lewis partnership with
Ocado has done nearly about 10 years in supplying goods. Previous years Ocado has launched
software for operating their business online.
The partnership was first announced in February 2019 and M&S acquired half of
retailing business to Ocado, and they are selling them with Ocado.com websites. New things
company furthermore have started investing more investment in advance technology operation
around the world. In delivering online food products they have build up them in various stores
globally and company chosen Ocado for making their services better in which they think that
could help them in developing more with different sectors. Before only two weeks companies
have also announced about 7000 of jobs for their employee in upcoming across next three
month in management along with stores levels. The retailers also said that dealing with Ocado
