Purpose: - Mission statement of Topshop is “to lead the fashion industry by offering
customers the creative products” and vision is to “determinant the fashion industry by creating
there reputation in the market” (Topshop. 2014).
Ownership structure:-Topshop follow hierarchical structure in planning all its
organisational operations.
Strategic planning: - They prepare their strategies by considering their aim to serve best
to the customers and their competitor’s strategies.
Marks & Spencer
Purpose: - Vision statement of Topshop is to maintain a standard against which they can
measure others, their value, quality, innovation and so on (Marks and Spencer Analysis. 2016).
On the other hand, Mission of the company is to conduct a broad classification of all purpose of
the organisation that determine the company’s products and customers and at the same
distinguishes there products from its competitor.”
Ownership organisational structure: - Marks & Spencer have recently modify its
organisational structure. They have reduce the size of their structure by delayering. This
organisation is now following the hierarchical structure.
Strategic planning: - Marks & Spencer has started preparing various strategies with an
aim to consolidate their position as one of the leading international and multi-channel retailer.
Their main objective is to accelerate their food growth in both UK and international market by
strengthening there capability and priorities.
TASK 4
Organisational structure and strategic planning helps both the company in identifying
their roles and responsibilities, there powers, and how information can be flow easily at various
level of the organisation (Steurer and et.al. 2005). In addition to this, it also assist the company in
setting up the priorities, strengthening different operations and concentrating on utilization of
available resources. Along with these all it aid the organisation to ensure that its shareholders and

employers are satisfied and they are moving towards the achievement of the organisational
common goal.
Therefore, if both the companies are able to analyse all the above mentioned factors than
in that case companies will be able to move faster towards the achievement of the organisational
goals and objective.
TASK 5
Customers: - Customers want value for their money. They want high quality products at
low price. If company is not able to satisfy the demand of its customers than in that case supply
of the product will also reduce. This in will affects the company growth.
Employee: - Employees want respect, fair salary and healthy working environment. If
company is not able to provide them all these things than in that case employees will get
demotivated and will not work towards the achievement of the organisational desired aims and
purposes.
Government: - Government simply wants that company should work for the betterment of
the society, pay taxes on time and follow rules and regulations imposed by the government
(Werther and Chandler, 2010). If demand of the government is not satisfied than in that case it
may affects the functioning of the company.
TASK 6
Employers and owners of the Topshop work together towards to achieve the
organisational desired objectives. Employers want that satisfaction of employee by organising
employee’s benefits program (Freeman, Harrison and Wicks, 2007). In short employer’s main
objective is employee satisfactory. But on the other hand owner only wants profit and growth of
the company. They are not much interested in employee satisfaction. This problem can be
resolved by satisfying and motivating the employees. Highly motivated employees will work
more proper towards the achievement of organisational desired objective.
