Strategize to Reduce Organizational
Stress from Change Effort Week 3

Potential Barriers
There are many barriers that change management team may face while implementing the
changes. These barriers are as follows:
Noise and air pollution at site may distract the management team to continue the
project.
Resistance from patient and staff members towards change
Dust exposure to patient care equipments and supplies
Availability of transport facilities in late hours
Managing all the work in the allocated budget
The recommended strategy for renovation
Implementing change in child healthcare center is associated with many challenges in terms of
the safety of children and support of employees working there. This plan of up gradation of the
services offered by the center will enable accommodation of more number of children and will
provide boom to child healthcare center. After examining the complexities and requirement of
the project, a four-point plan has been suggested that include best practices to identify the
potential barriers and, meet the current deliverables and deadline (Facilities, 2019).
To implement changes at the Child healthcare center, it is necessary to consider the four essential
components to simplifying the healthcare renovation project. These components are essential for
handling the barriers of safety and satisfaction of children, for effective planning of successful
renovation, for leveraging technology to enhance processes, outcomes and implementation of
extensive infection control safeguards. This four-level strategy for effective implementation of
the changes is explained below (Silvis, 2013).

1. Focus on Patient: the change management team has been given the task to implement
change at the healthcare center. The overall objective not just includes delivering the
tasks assigned to them but to ensure that after the change implementation, the patients
will be able to use those facilities more conveniently and effectively. Achieving their
satisfaction level is the most important criterion. The effective communication tool
should be adopted to prepare the patients and the staff for the change. Once the patients
and staff are satisfied and clearly understand the need for change, they will support us by
giving their positive feedback and perception towards change. It will eventually ensure
the successful change implementation in the healthcare centre because moral support is
more effective than physical support (Korteco, 2019).
2. Begin at the end: For successful implementation of changes, plenty of scheduling,
sequencing and, phasing are required. The project team will firstly, plan about how to
proceed. It is critical for a change agent to understand the flow and needs of the facility
so that planning and scheduling can be done accordingly with least impact possible on the
day to day services of the center. Scheduling includes the time and place of the change to
be implemented. Further, scheduling also involves the transportation phase wherein the
time and quantity of the resources required to perform the changes are decided. After
scheduling, the next come sequencing processes. Once all the tasks are scheduled their
order of sequence is decided so that least time and space is taken while performing any
change. Phasing is important as implementing the changes in phases allow us to reduce
the amount of space required to deliver the facility (Chambers, 2019).
3. Team with technology: In the earlier phase, the planning is performed as it helps in
reducing the unforeseen conditions. Now, in this phase, use of technology ensures that all
