Workplace diversity refers to the people of varied cultural backgrounds that work together
at various workplaces. Workplace diversity is an organization employing a large number of
different types of people towards the job roles provided.

Briefly explain 3 potential benefits of diversity for an organisation for each of the following:
Individuals
Individuals can learn to accept different cultures, improve their language skills and greatly
develop their cultural communication.
Teams
Teams can learn to accept the differences of opinion of the culturally different team
members. More importantly, they can perform better after integrating.
The workplace
The reputation of the workplace is positively affected due to the large number of people
from different backgrounds.

Briefly explain whom you would consult about their requirements for a diversity policy in your
organisation.
The HR of the organization needs to be consulted for the formation and implementation of
diversity policy. Moreover, the Chief operating officer also need to be consulted before the
formation of the plan.

Briefly explain the main sections of a well written policy document.
The main sections of a policy document are, 1. The specific points that are covered through
the policy, 2. The legislations that cover for the policies, 3. The amendment features of the
policies, 4. The reporting of the breach of policy.

Briefly explain five communication channels that could be used to promote a diversity policy
across an organisation.
Five communication channels that can be used for diversity policy are email, group discussion,
official verbal communication, usage of media channels and usage of voice communication. The
email communication is recordable organization communication, group communication refers to
interactive communication, verbal communication is communication between the leader and the
team, media channels are the audio visual mediums, voice communication occurs over the phone.
