Depression and mental disorders are not something to get worried about because it
affects almost everyone. It is a high time that everyone who is infected realizes this and stops
getting ashamed of and faces it head-on. No matter how hard life in collage becomes, there is
hope and students should let their mental struggles get out of their lives.
Students shared brain infections and disorders stories that reveal a common worrying
problem. The interview was conducted for students to share stories about their experiences in
collage and campuses. I really had no idea over what the reactions would be. In the enter
interview, we received about 300 responses where we decided to stop the interview because
we could not accommodate the influx of entries. The interview kind of information gathering
technique from different student in different collages stayed open for two weeks before we
could end it. We could always meet with new student’s stories which could directly reflect on

threat to their education more specifically on their class attendances, concentration and
eventually these had a negative impact on their academic performances. When it comes to less
known mental health disorders, most of the student’s stories indicated that they could not
understand what they were going through. Some spoke of how they felt embarrassed when
they could think of seeking help. Though some of the students were not diagnosed with the
problems, they were struggling according to the phrases in their stories (Mikolajczyk 70).
“Before joining a collage, there is no one to tell you that collage life might be
difficult”, the students said. All you could get are some encouragements to work hard, pass
and join a collage to pursue your dreams, enjoy the freedom in campuses and more of
blackmailing stories about universities. There was no one to talk the truth about real life
struggles and footnotes of loneliness and disillusionment (Yearwood and Joan 5).
During the early days in campus, one of the student said that they were constantly
reminded that being in collage is supposed to be their best time of life. He said to him it felt
like it was the worst time of his life. It is at this time that he had feelings of regrets keeping all
these emotional feelings to himself. He said that he survived his first days of collage hiding in
his room heavy hearted with a lot of homesick and was not sure whether collage was the place
he wanted to be (Tee 40)
A new life in a totally new environment can add pressure. A good number of the
interviewed students spoke of the depression they carried to collages. This depression to some
of them started sometimes earlier before they joined campuses, some said. Leaving home and
getting oneself in an extremely new environment together with increased pressure in his or

experience memory loss and felt like the whole world had overturned on their side (Hoffmann
