With the increasing rate of employee turnover theconcept of employee engagement has been gaining significant pace as it support the staff andemployees to contribute their thought and views within the organization (Markos and Sridevi,2010). The key ground of the study is to focus on measuring the effectiveness of employeeengagement as it play significant role in attaining the competitive advantage. The chosenorganization for the present research is Primark which is one of the leading fashionable clothingretailer that deals in providing fashionable products and services to the customers. Along withthis, the background of the study is that in the contemporary environment it is the top mostpriority of the top level executives in enhancing the productivity of cited organization throughemployee engagement. An engaged employee are the one that are fully committed and enthusiastic regardingtheir activities and work within the organization that basically support in enhancing thereputation and image of the firm in the market. The concept of employee engagement is mainlyformulated on the ground of trust and integrity that mainly enhances the success of organizationin the clothing industry. Along with this, it is also termed as workplace approach that support inproviding proper working condition to all the employees that assists them in attaining the goalsand values of the organization. As per the view of Albrech (2011) organization with highemployee engagement results in enhancing the productivity as they are committed towards thework that results in lowering the rate of absenteeism. On the contrary, if the employeeengagement within the organization is low then it might results in demotivated and also lead tohigh rate of turnover that directly impact their operational activities. Employee engagement practicesEmployee engagement is consider as the challenging aspect for the different companiesand organization as committed employees benefit the company while, demotivated employeesare not committed towards the employees that results in negative impacting the activities oforganization. There are different practices that is used by the clothing organization in enhancingthe engagement of employees. According to Macey, Schneider, Barbera and Young (2011) withthe help of effective leadership within the organization it support in building the effectual cultureof employee engagement. Therefore, the manager or senior level executives within the industryneed to become inspirational as well as enthusiastic that support the employees to engage theiropinion and views within the decision making process. Along with this, the leadership culturemust also focuses on maintaining the transparency as well as clearly express their views andideas to gain positive voice from the employees and staff those who are rendering services withinthe organization. On the contrary to this, Bakker and Leites (2010) has stated that if theorganizational structure of the company is rigid then it is not effective for the leaders to changethe culture of the organization that outcome in not engaging their employees within theorganization. Another effective employee engagement practices that is adopted by the clothingorganization include promoting effective culture as well as encouraging the voice of employeesand staff that support in engaging their employees within the organization.
