INTRODUCTIONIn the present report, I am summarizing the career and growth development in thecomputer hardware consulting and IT service sector industry. In the report, I am looking fort theappropriate job opportunities and career development opportunities in different types ofcompanies. The major focus of my study is the training and development program held byvarious IT companies in order to develop the skills and knowledge of their employees. In order tomake an in depth research on these topics, I will approach a range of various company's websitesso as to review and analyse the development opportunities in those companies. In addition, I willalso approach various general websites, magazines, newspapers and other articles based on thosecompanies, to review numerous career and development programs held by those companies fortheir employees. I have chosen two major companies working in the IT service sector industry namelyGoogle and IBM (Odabasi and et.al., 2018). Both the companies comes under the list of one ofthe major the companies working under IT service sector industry. Being one of leadingcompanies in the world, working in these companies would definitely be more beneficiary for myown career development. Further, with the help of training and development program conductedby these companies for their employees, I would be able learn various new things which wouldbe helpful for me in my own career growth and development. Furthermore, I will also approach some websites that helps in gaining jobs in thesecompanies. With the help of these websites I will gain knowledge about minimum requirement ofthe companies to recruit any new employee in the companies. In this order, I would be able toidentify the the required skills that I would need to gain for the purpose of having job in thosecompanies. Moreover, these websites will also help me in approaching IBM and Google for therecruitment purpose. Both IBM and Google offers job to fresh graduates and experiencedemployees. As I am a graduate in the information technology, I am eligible to get jobs in both thecompanies. In addition, Google conducts variety of career and development programs. They haveemployed professionals in the company that are working for providing appropriate training toeach employees as per the requirement of their jobs (Leeds and et.al., 2018). It is an effectiveway of providing training to the employees. In this regard, being a candidate of the informationtechnology field, I will gain an opportunity to improve my skills and knowledge in this field.1
Further, IBM provides both formal and informal learning and development program to theemployees. In addition, it also conduct both indoor and outdoor training program for itsemployees (Eickhoff and et.al., 2018). It helps the employees in gaining the opportunities of thepersonalised development of their skills and knowledge. In order to this, if I get the opportunityof being employed in the IBM, I would be able to develop myself as a IT professional. Moreover,I would also be able to gain the opportunity of having personalised growth. Further, these companies have conducted the schemes of the employing more freshers inthe company and provide them training as per their skills and knowledge. This scheme is helpfulfor the companies as they become able to create the ability in the employees as per the needs ofthe employees. Further, by providing more job opportunities to the freshly graduate person thanthe experienced candidates, helps the companies in recruiting candidates in way lower amount ofsalaries than the experienced employees along with gaining the benefits of fresh ideas of businessdevelopment from them (Willoughby and et.al., 2018). In contrary to this, the recruitedcandidates get the opportunities to grow themselves, learn a range of new things. In addition,developing the career in the most leading companies of the world will definitely enhance theirfuture career and growth opportunities. In this regard, I would be able to improve my career andgrowth opportunities of improving my knowledge of information technology and learning arange of new things by taking benefits of the effective training and development programsconducted by the these companies. FINDINGSWhile making research over the career growth and development opportunities in the ITsector companies, first and foremost I located the job requirements in the companies. Iapproached a range of websites that provides job opportunities in various companies so as toidentify the job opportunities in IBM and Google companies. I also make an in depth research ofvacant job advert section of these companies' own website. This research helped me indetermining the vacant job positions in both companies and identifying the minimumqualifications and skills requirement. IBM company's website have a different section called namely career section. The sectionprovides an option of search your job (Do your bestwork ever, 2019). Which also provides twooptions i.e. search entry level jobs or search experienced job. With the help of which one caneasily find appropriate jobs as per their own skills.
