Warehousing is to be defined as process of storing a goods during selling process or after
distribution. Each and every business require warehousing on the basis of which they are able to
manage their goods as well as products within proper manner. In context of Walmart, supply chain
and warehousing is to be considered as important as these processes assist in execution of
marketing activities in proper manner. Basically there are several types of storage system, such as
static shelving, mobile shelving, multi-tier shelving etc. In relation of selected entity, they uses EDI
system for procurement. EDI is to be known as electronic data interchange system which assist in
transferring of data through internet. With help of both small and large vendors can easily distribute
and provide goods in appropriate manner.
Also, Sam CEO of Walmart was assure that shelves system will be also needed within
business expansion. So, they uses intensive distribution strategy and system to achieve competitive
benefits.
Problems emerge in Walmart
Walmart is a large enterprise that comprises of number of people and they are aiming
towards development and growth of business. There are various types of issues which are faced by
company within their operations as well as warehousing like excess of stock, lack of space, excess
of procedures, and many more. With change of technologies and market situation, it is not easy to d
carry out business activities in proper manner.

Managers as well as leaders of Walmart make assure that issues are reduced so that business
operations are carried out smoothly. Moreover, it is too stated that it is essential to focus on
adopting effective strategies so that goals are accomplished within period of time. For example-

prepare a plan with on basis of which it will be easy to analyse number of staff needed and quantity.
