Introduction
This report summarize about the supply chain management and its importance for any
organization. The working concept of supply chain management is explained in brief its
examples. The research is conduct on two phenomenon related to supply chain management i.e.
barriers of supply chain management which affect the working efficiency of this process. In this
project the research is also conducted on the possible solution which can implement to minimize
the effect of barriers.
Supply chain management
The phenomenon which describes the control of flow of products or services, this service also
includes the process of transformation in which a raw material is converted into a product for the
distribution to customers is known as Supply chain management. In this method delivering of the
raw material to the company and make them available for the use of customer is controlled by
the supply chain management (Pettit, Croxton, and Fiksel, 2019). In this complete process the
pressure for the delivering the raw materials and its quality is not on the organization, it is all
outsourced by the third party companies. This helps company to reduce the cost of final product
and also it reach in limit of company fast.

Importance of Supply chain management
Supply chain management plays important role for the satisfaction of customers and for
development of an organization. Some of the benefits of supply chain management are
mentioned below:
 It upgrades the customer service.
 By the help of Supply chain the financial condition boost up.
 It helps in reducing the production cost.
 This process helps to identify the satisfaction of customer.
By the help of supply chain management companies are able to reduce their cost on the
production (Michalski, montes, and Narasimhan, 2019). Manager of Supply chain communicate
with the logistics services and this process is consists of 5 different stages which are mentioned
below:
1. Strategy 2. Source of the Raw material 3. Production 4. Delivery 5. Return policy
The role of the supply chain manager is not only linked with the delivery and logistics service
but also have responsibility to provide suggestions related with quality and quantity of products
and their supply, to reduce the cost of product is also depend on the supply chain manager. If the
company will maintain the supply of goods in market then it will impact positively also it will
develop trust amongst customers (Saberi, Kouhizadeh, Sarkis, and Shen, 2019).
Examples of Supply chain management
One of the largest pharmacy company is united states of America ‘Walgreens Boots Alliance’
adapt the process of supply chain management in their operations and they obtained huge amount
of positive output also it impacts on the market value. In the year 2016 company implemented
technology of supply chain in their operation and they were able to collect the relevant data of
purchase history of customers which helps company to understand the demand of people. It also
helps company to deliver the medicines with in short time period with little waste which reduces
the production cost of company also increase in their productivity (Ardito, Petruzzelli, Panniello,
and Garavelli, 2019).
