This essay provides a reflective account of the survey method, including its advantages, disadvantages, and methods of overcoming challenges. The survey method is a technique for gathering research data by asking questions to a sample of respondents. It is effective for collecting information related to social and economic characteristics, attitudes, opinions, and intentions. However, there are challenges such as unwillingness of respondents to reveal information, memory lapses, and biases. These challenges can be overcome through careful question framing, data gathering control, and interpretation. Despite the difficulties, the survey method is reliable and applicable for conducting objective research and collecting accurate data.
