INTRODUCTION
Business communication is defined as the process of sharing in formation between people
within as well as outside organisation. In business upward, downward, lateral and external
communication is used to communicate business policies and strategies at all hierarchical level
of business. Business uses various fundamentals of communication that enable business to attain
sustainable competitive advantages in competitive business environment (Aguinis, and Glavas,
2019). In this report three organisational are taken which are Hayward Tyler, Cisco and Tesco.
Hayward Tyler is the subsidiary, develops, manufacturer, supplier and service high-end
pump as well as motors that re used in the oil and gas industry. Organisation is incorporated in
2006 and situated in United kingdom. Cisco is the American multinational technology
conglomerate organisation headquarter situated in San Jose, California. It was founded in 1984
by Leonard Bosack Sandy Lerner. Third organisation is Tesco which is British multinational
organisational deals in groceries and merchandise retaining. Respective organisation was
founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen and headquarter is situated in Hertforshire, England, UK. This
report covers sustainable approaches to business strategy and management that are used by
organisations. Along with that different CSR approaches and ways to measure organisational
CSR strategies are mentioned in this project report.
TASK
Explanation of a sustainable approach to business strategy and management
Business are considered various sustainable approaches in developing business strategies
as well as management approaches. These approaches help business to gain sustainable
competitive advantages in environment help to attain all determined goals and objectives in
efficient manner. Sustainable business strategies are defined as the vehicle to support the
transformation to a sustainable organisation than other unsustainable one (Alshbili, and Elamer,
2020). These strategies helps business to gain long-term sustainable advantages.
Hayward Tyler sustainable approaches to business strategy and management: Cisco
organisation adopts various strategies that enable business to attain sustain in competitive
business environment for longer period of time. Some strategies of organisation are mentioned
below:

Cisco sustainable approaches to business strategy and management: Cisco include the aspects
of sustainability in its business strategies, operations and management that enable organisation to
sustain in competitive business environment for longer period of time (Brondoni, and Mosca,
2017). Cisco takes various actions to minimise the negative impacts on environment such as
reduce energy use. Some strategies are mentioned below:
ï‚· Cisco building energy efficiency, as respective organisation have implements 440 energy
efficient projects that enable business to reduces the cost as well as carbon emissions on
environment.
ï‚· Cisco procuring renewable energy in specific region in which it operates its operations
through a variety of on-site as well as off-site sources.
ï‚· Cisco develop more efficient energy thermal systems, reducing power losses as well as
offer higher efficient power suppliers that reduces the consumption level of energy and
protect environment from harmful impacts.ï‚· Cisco also conducts volunteerism and awareness campaigns to promote the social
responsibility towards earth and develop green team network to run organisational
sustainable projects in efficient manner (Buchanan, Cao, and Chen, 2017). Respective
organisation also take actions towards conserving water through supporting local water
restoration projects as well as managing waste by recycling composition and donation.
Tesco sustainable approaches to business strategy and management: Tesco is the organisation
that adopts sustainable approaches in business strategies and management process that enable

rights, improve diversity and inclusion in organisation that help business to sustain in

techniques.ï‚· Tesco develop various sustainable strategies for planet such as farming and promotes

Challenges of CSR policies: Business faces various challenges and issues in CSR policies such
as climate change, social justice and human rights, income and resource inequality as well as
environmental sustainability (Chao, and Hong, 2019). Organisations need to understand these
issues and challenge than develop appropriate strategies that enable business to sustain in
competitive business environment.

Tesco's corporate social responsibility approaches: Tesco uses the concept of corporate social
responsibility in business strategy and management process that enable organisation to attain
sustainable competitive advantages in environment. Organisation also review performance in
defined period of time that help to analyse the requirement of modifications in strategies as well
as their proper implementation. Board of directors and executives of Tesco organisation updates
organisational CSR performance according to future risk and opportunities that assessed by
