CSR approaches and ethical decision making of Tata Steel
Tata Steel is the largest manufacturer and distributor of steel across the globe. The organization
based in India and includes many operations such as Bamnipal steels, Tata steel Europe and
other trade operations1.
Company’s vision is regarding climate change is to aspire the global steel industry for value
creation and corporate citizenship. Aligning its vision with the international sustainable
development, the organization has taken has a step towards climate change as they committed to
reducing the carbon emission also water consumption into their manufacturing process and
improve the impact of its CSR activities. Hence the priority of its CSR activity is to reduce the
risk of climate change and in order to do that the company is focusing on innovative technologies
that can help to reduce emission for the long term and can have the positive impact on CO2.
Apart from its vision and mission company core values such as integrity, Excellence, Unity,
Responsibility, and pioneering Helps Company to be fair ethical to the society to tackle the
challenges of sustainability 2.
Sustainable practices to promote business
Tata Steel always contributes to the employee welfare measures community and, other social
initiatives and other environmental sustainability. There are several policies such as Affirmative
Action policy, Alcohol and drug policy Biodiversity policy, Environment policy, HR policies,
and CSR and Accountability policy helps ensures that the business in sustainable for its all the

stakeholders and also helps to serve the better image. Apart from that these policies the
organization engages with its customers through several ways such as customer meets, Ask
expert camp, Distributor force gurukul and many others. With the communities, the organization
engages with the public hearing and meeting. With the employees provides flexible five-day shift
and also provides them other health and safety measures and benefits. Vendor meets focuses on
building a better relationship with suppliers and timely meeting regulatory requirement helps to
build the collaboration with government. This robust engagement with all the important
stakeholders improves the decision making leverage its position3.
LCA
The organization utilizes the tool helps to identify the targets and hotspot areas in the supply
chain system in order to have corporate sustainability and increase higher efficiencies
improvements. Hence LCA is more accurate analysis than just manage carbon footprint. By
implementing LCA natural resources can be managed and increase efficiency and sustainability.
Through using life cycle the sustainability of business can be increased as after implementing
this the organization develops packaging quality that provides the safe material which is
recyclable with any times with equal quality and no loss.
Evaluation of sustainable practices
The ethical framework ensures the business conducted in an ethical manner and compliant
operations with integrity and confirms the laws and regulations with which the organization
operates. The code of conduct of the company articulates the governance system of the company
which serves its commitment for sustainable and environmental practices. Company’s code
requires that its employees have to act with the required guidelines such as honesty integrity and
to sanctuary the human rights of the community.

Purpose and scope of the policy
Sustainability policy basically is the concept of the act and operates with the guidelines and
standard to promote environmental responsibility4. With the Fujitsu, The Company serves the
purpose to contribute the required business operations and solutions for its customers and also
aligns its corporate philosophy and strategy unit environmental protection program with the
commitment to social and environmental sustainability5.
The scope of the sustainable policy is that the company’s sustainable policy is applicable to all
operational activities and these policies and guidelines are integrated with the management
system of the Fujitsu.
Key stakeholders
This sustainable policy is applicable to all the employees of the company or signed any contract
any to be an employee within FAST and FANZ. These employees include all the manager and
leader or board members of the company. Also, those who are who work offsite are equally
responsible to follow the policy and these are the key stakeholders of the company’s policy.
Relevant laws and standards
There are several policies and standard covered in the document of the company such as
AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004: this includes some key element that designed to manage, control and
provide a report about the organizational performance.
AS/NZS: This includes Australian and NZ standard with which company operates.
