1LEADERSHIP
Leadership can be defined as the ability to guide the employees or others people with
a force of direction that leaves them with a feeling of empowerment and accomplishment.
Hence it is the role of a leader which creates an art of motivating a group of people to act
towards and achieve a common goal (Singh et al., 2016). In a company or organisation the
managerial setting caters to direct the workers and employees with an aim and strategy to
meet the goals of the industry. The aim of the paper is to create a reflective paper on the
basis of my course which I had obtained and is career and job life. The leadership theory had
assisted me to bring forward why certain individuals employee or people are motivated to be
leaders.
Theories and concept of leadership
The theories of leadership that are covered in my course are contingency leadership
theory, transformational leadership theory and transitional theory (Venzor, 2017). With
reference of contingency theory it can be explained that the companies incorporate discipline
of the organisation behavior the area of the theory assist in understanding the employees. The
theory is specified on the situational factors which affect the direct relationship between the
dependent and independent variable in the organizational behavior. This is however suitable
for my career growth because this is the best way to structure my business and solve the
employee grievances. I feel that leadership and motivation are just two variables of many
independent variables of contingency theory (Fiedler, 2015). On the other hand in case of
transformational leadership I feel that the leaders work in team and this is the most important
attribute where the leader should work along with the members. As an employee it has
facilitated me create a vision and guide the other employees and be an inspiration hence it
assist in creating a vision for the company (Berkovich, 2016). However I feel that the
transactional leadership theory carets the idea where the managers allow its employee to get
something in return of their hard work. We need to understand that the workers are not self
motivated and they require be motivating and monitoring in order to complete the given task
on time.
Implementation of leadership style
The leadership theories like contingency leadership theory, transformational
leadership theory and transitional theory had a huge affect on my career growth as it had
improved my organizational performance, understanding the culture and various people and
