INTRODUCTION
Sustainability refers to business approach in order to create long term valuation by
considering the ways through which the firm operates in the social, ecological as well as
economic environment (Woollings and et.al., 2018). This report will discuss the concept of
climate change in context of African perspective and statement said by Greta Thunberg.
MAIN BODY
Climate change is referred as drastic crisis and happening continuously even more rapid
than anybody feared about. But, it has been identified that no corner of the globe is immune
from destructive consequences of climatic changes. Rise in temperature are fueling
environmental degradation, weather extremes, food and water insecurity, economic disruption,
conflicts as well as natural disasters. Sea levels are rising constantly, Arctic ocean are melting,
oceans are acidifying, along with forests that are constantly burning creates environmental
disasters. From various researches, it has been identified that billions of tons of carbon di oxide
has been released into the atmosphere every year on a constant basis which resulting into gas,
coal and oil production (Bai and et.al., 2018). The State of the climate in Africa which is a
multinational publication coordinated by the world of Meteorological organization provides
recent updates over the climate trends and associated impacts over the economy of Africa just
like into agriculture sector.
It has been evaluated that increasing climatic changes creates threats for human health,
water security, food production as well as socio-economic development within the Africa.
Because of the climatic changes, African continents feels forceful and dangerous impacts the
environment which arises food insecurities, population displacement as well as stress out water
resources. The statement that had been said by the Greta Thunberg that everyone is not suffering
from climatic consequences on equal basis is not correct as the climate changes occurs on global
basis and it highly affects each and every person irrespective of their places or locations. In
recent era, the Africa was faced devastating floods because of global warming, a penetration of
desert locusts and also faces looming apparition of drought.
African temperature in recent decades have been warming at higher rate as comparative
to other continents and hence faster than global mean surface temperature. Extensive areas
within the Africa will exceed the limit of 2 degree Celsius of warming level which is above the
