Topic
Huge amount of electrical wastes is generated every year and the electrical wastes coming
from the non-degradable wastes such as the lighting products and computer products. These
products are very difficult to dispose in the nature and hampers the nature to a great extent.
Identification of stakeholders
The topic area has been identified under the field of technology and IT. The main
stakeholders included in this area of development are:
IT Developers: The IT developers facing difficulties in creating a new product and wastes arising
from it cannot be disposed efficiently.
Engineers: The engineers would be facing difficulties when the they can’t develop products due to
energy crisis.
Government: The government also faces huge regarding the e wastes as this hampers the population
of the adjoining areas as well.
Scope definition and system thinking approach
Scope: The scope of the project is to identify how the usage of the renewable source of energy can
help in the reduction of the environmental pollution along with the reduction of the cost of the
consumption of electricity. E-wastes are the waste produced from the Electronic goods which is one
of the main cause of pollution, thus to reduce the solution sustainable energy sources can be used
(Kumar, Holuszko and Espinosa 2017). These sources of power are used for the reduced
consumption of the non-renewable source of energy like, coal, petroleum and the few more.
System thinking approach: The usage of the sustainable energy sources reduces the cost of the
electricity consumption which is beneficial for the beholder of the product. Moreover, the
renewable sources of energy have diverse application and can be used for the development of the
various electronics products. The cost of the maintenance of the system is lesser with the usage of
these energy (Abdelkareem et al. 2018). One of the very important benefit of the energy is the

installation process which is very less complicated. Hence, for developing a new technology with
the usage of renewable energy is much easier, that is the reason for which it is preferred as the
source of energy in the project.
Product Service System conceptual development
The integration of the product with the services provided by them for the benefit of the
consumer is known as the product service system. Now a day the consumers are more concerned
about the environment and they as well look for the solution to prevent the pollution caused due to
them. Thus, with the usage of the sustainable energy the problem of the more energy consumption
and the production of E-waste can be mitigated (Sukhatme and Nayak 2017). The process of
installation is expensive but it is a one-time-investment process, which is efficient in the long-run.
There are many significant benefit of using the renewable energy which in future will help in the
reduction of the E-Waste and pollution caused due to that.
Topic Area Development
In the contemporary world, the usage of the electronic goods has increased considerably,
and so is the pollution due to the usage of the non-renewable sources of energy. The usage of the
sustainable energy is preferred by many. The objects that are used for the day to day activities
consume maximum power and energy. With the repeated usage of the energy, the pollution due to
them increases. If the energy obtained from the unlimited sources like that of the renewable energy
is used in place of the other non-renewable energy, the pollution decreases along with the reduced
consumption of the energy (Fennell 2019). Thus, development of the electronic devices with the
help of these types of energy is taken as the area of development in the project.
