INTRODUCTION
Sustainable tourism is broad concept of visiting of the tourist so that it will help to make
a positive impact upon an environment. In the same way it is characterized by enhancing the
well-being of communities as well the social and cultural well-being too. In the same way, the
current study main purpose is to provide the deep understanding of sustainable tourism. The
chosen destination is London which has its so many tourist destinations who also contribute for
the growth of economy. The report will describe stakeholders who benefited from planning and
also understand different approaches as well a provide importance of interactive planning
system. Further, report describe deep understanding of sustainable tourism and then describe
current issues related to tourism development planning as well. Lastly, through comparison,
report help to understand socio-cultural, environmental and economic impacts of tourism.
TASK 1
1.1 Discuss how different stakeholders would benefit from development of tourism industry in
London
Stakeholder are person, organization, social group or society that has interest in the operation of
the organization operation. As Travel and tourism industry is one of the biggest industry in the
London. In 2016 the industry made a total contribution of approximately 217 billion British
pounds to GDP in the UK number of stakeholder are also very high in it. In the case of the
London the main stake holder for the organization are:
Government: It is the main stakeholder which will be benefited by the development of tourism
and planning in the country as it will help the country in seeing more foreign money in the
country and government of UK also earns good amount of revenue from the Travel and tourism
industry.
Local community: Development of the Travel and tourism industry in the London will help the
local community in getting more employment opportunity as compare to the past as the
requirement of human resource in the travel and tourism industry is much higher than the service
providing company.
Depended Industry: This are the another big stakeholder which will be benefited by the growth
of the travel and tourism industry in the London as there are many industry which are depended
on the tourism industry for the growth such as hotels, airlines and local transports etc. Hospitality
industry is the one which is benefited a lot by the tourism in London (Jones, Wicks and Freeman,

1.2 Advantages and disadvantages of public-private sector partnerships (PPP) in tourism industry
of London.
Public private sector partnership is the collaboration between government and private sector
company for the purpose of doing business.
Advantage of Public Private Sector Partnership
Resource Availability: The biggest advantage which has been brought by PPSP is that it has
helped the industry in getting more efficient resource to carry out the operation of the business
as compare to the past as there are many resources which are not available for the private sector
in past.
Infrastructure Development: It is the another benefit of PPSP as the UK government used to
give the contract to the private company in the UK for maintaining the infrastructure of heritage
which helps the industry in improving the infrastructure of the country as well as it help the
tourism industry in attracting the customer (Muresan And et.al., 2016).
Disadvantages of Public private sector partnership
Coordination and communication: It is the biggest disadvantage of Public private sector
partnership as it always get difficult for both company to fix a good coordination and the
communication but if there is any political cries in the country then it get difficult for public and
private company which can harm the tourism industry of the London.
Control: Including Private company in the operation with the public company may result in
loosing the control of government over the natural resources of London which will harm tourism
industry of the London.

2.1 Describing features of Tourism development planning at different levels
There are four main types of level for tourism development planning and these are as
mentioned below:
International level: At this level, the international organization should work to promote
the policies made by government in order to make amendments related to economic and social
well being of people. World Travel and Tourism Council, World Wildlife Fund, World Tourism
Organization are some international level participation groups. Even UNESCO promote and also
