SYSTEM ANALYSIS
Introduction
The report is concern with the case of Free Feet Socks Limited. It is a Melbourne Based
business that traditionally is engaged with business of socks. Their main business process is to
sell socks to the people and also the parties. The Organization is looking to expand their business
and hence they are looking to expand the products to underwear and home. The company
conducts their business on various parts of the world. At the present moment of time the
company is maintaining a manual system for their business processes. But, this is very inefficient
for the business, hence the new manager is looking to implement an information system that
would help the company to gather the information very easily and more efficiently. The manager
of the company Alan Mastersis wants to develop the system based on the adaptive methodology.
The report consists of the different methodologies of the adaptive development model.
The advantages and disadvantages of the Scrum, XP and UP models have been discussed in this
report and a recommended solution for the development of the information system have also
been provided in this report.
Scrum Methodology
The scrum model is both incremental and iterative model for the development of the
information system. Scrum is a deft approach to deal with a venture, as a rule programming
improvement. Rather than reviewing Scrum as technique, consider it a structure for dealing with
a procedure. In the Scrum world, rather than giving complete portrayals of how everything is to
be done on a venture, a lot of it is surrendered over to the Scrum development group. This is
because the group will know best how to tackle the issue they are exhibited. Scrum depends on a
self-sorting out, cross-useful group. The scrum group is self-arranging in that there is no general

group pioneer who chooses which individual will do which assignment or how an issue will be
tackled. Those are issues that are chosen by the group in general.
Advantages
ï‚· The scrum model helps in saving time and money for the organization.
ï‚· This models enables clear visibility of the project development with regular meetings.
ï‚· This is an iterative method and requires continuous feedback form the users.
ï‚· This improves the productivity of the member in the group.
ï‚· It is easier for the company to cope up with the changes in this model.
ï‚· Easier to deliver quality product in the scheduled time with the help of this method.
Disadvantages
ï‚· The greatest disadvantage of this model is the scope creep. This model is not favorable
for projects that do not have a fixed schedule and budget.
ï‚· The model is also not suitable for the larger projects.
ï‚· In this model the group needs to be very committed towards the project. If not there are
chances that the project might fail.
ï‚· The quality of the project might be compromised sometimes in this, type of models.
XP Methodology
The XP method also known as the Extreme Programming model is also one of the
adaptive methodologies are used for the software development procedures. XP covers the full
advancement life cycle, it is a competitor "base process" into which the systems of AM might be
custom fitted. Moreover, in spite of the fact that XP unmistakably incorporates displaying as a
feature of its procedure it isn't as unequivocal about how to do as such the same number of

engineers would prefer. The XP people group perceives that documentation ought to be delivered
for individuals outside to your group, individuals that AM would term extend partners. It brings
up that verbal correspondence between colleagues diminishes the requirement for documentation
inside the group. This is the consequence of undertaking colleagues being co-found, making
correspondence simpler, and also parts of XP, for example, Pair Programming and Collective
Ownership that advance correspondence between engineers.
Advantages
ï‚· This methodology allows the organizations to save a lot financially and also this method
helps in reducing the time that is required for the completion of the project.
ï‚· This method generally focuses on the delivery of the projects.
ï‚· This method makes use of very minimal documentation procedures.
ï‚· This method also enhances the simplicity of the projects.
Disadvantages
The method is based on coding rather than designing.
This is very critical for the projects that are based on designing.
This method lacks in the production of well analyzed documents.
This might cause bugs in the projects after they have been developed.
UP Methodology
The UP methodology is also known as the Unified Process Model or the Unified
Software Development Process. Unified process (UP) is a design driven, use case driven,
iterative and incremental improvement process that use brought together demonstrating dialect
and is agreeable with the framework procedure building design. Unified process can be

connected to various programming frameworks with various levels of specialized and
administrative many-sided quality crosswise over different spaces and hierarchical societies.
Advantages
ï‚· This model provides the complete documentation for the information system
development and also provides the complete methodology for the development of the
system.
ï‚· The method also resolves the risks involved in the projects and the also performs efficient
risk mitigation techniques.
ï‚· This method requires less time for integration with an existing system.
ï‚· The method is very easy and a used one.
Disadvantages
ï‚· The colleagues should be master in their field to build up a product under this procedure.
ï‚· The process of development in this model is a bit complex.
ï‚· On front line ventures which use new innovation, the reuse of segments won't be
conceivable. Consequently, the efficient one could have made will be difficult to satisfy.
ï‚· Due to the integration procedures the bigger project can suffer due to the complexities.
Recommendations
For the selected project it is recommended that the Unified process model be used. This
model would be very efficient for this project as this is a small projects and it depends more on
the designing process. This method also incorporates the UML models for the systems and
hence, this method is very effective for the development of the information system for the Free
Feet Socks Limited company.

MEMORANDUM
To: Alan Masters, business owner at Free Feet Socks Limited
From: enter your name

Subject: Setting a plan for the development of the Human Computer Interaction
The main aim is to provide a notification to the business owner about the difficulty in the
integration of the system with development of the new information system for the company. But
the resources available to the company are not enough. Hence, there are requirement of
installation of new systems for the company.
The company needs some new systems so that the new information system desired by the
company for the increase of efficiency in the business procedure can be implemented
successfully. According to the Technology Acceptance Model there are two factors on which the
acceptance of an information system is dependent on and those factors are the perceived
usefulness and perceived ease of use in relevance to the behaviors of computer use. perceived
usefulness is the probability that the implementation of the system would enhance the
performances of the staffs in the office and Ease of use is defined as the degree to which the
efforts of the users of the system are reduced and also the usefulness of the system is defined.
The state of mind to utilize is concerned with the client's assessment of the allure of utilizing a
specific data framework application. Behavioral goal is the measure of the probability of a man
utilizing the application. But the main problem regarding the implementation of the system is the

limited number of systems available to the company to integrate the new system and also for the
incorporation of the devices with the new system. Hence, it is recommended that some new
devices to be installed into the network of the company. And also the users of the system should
go through a process so that they can get accustomed to the system. This would increase the ease
of the use of the system for the users and also the overall efficiency of system would be
increased.
For conclusion it can be said that new system has to be integrated efficiently with the
older procedures of the company. Hence, there is requirement of implementing new devices into
the system and the staffs in the company should undergo some recommended training of the
system so that they would be well accustomed to the system and they performances of the
employees would be optimum. Hence, a detailed training program is to be designed for the staffs
in the systems and it is to be made sure that all the staffs of the company undergo the training
and perform an evaluation process so that the knowledge about the system can be easily
evaluated. The staffs should only be appointed to their respective positions after the evaluation
process is complete and also they perform efficiently in the evaluation program. It is to be made
sure that all this processes are implemented with an immediate effect.
