2 SYSTEM ANALYSISIntroduction Common Wealth Government of Australia has proposed a system of providing electronichealth summary of the patients. This project is undertaken in order to improve the process ofhealthcare services provided to the patients. There are a number of drawbacks associated withthe existing healthcare system and therefore, it is a much needed reform to the existing system.Often doctors fail to suggest proper medication to the patient as they do not have access to themedical health records of the patients. The reform in the way of providing medical facilities isexpected to address the different issues associated with the healthcare system (Mello et al.,2013). The vision document containing the problems, capabilities and benefits of “My HealthRecord” System is discussed below- 1. The Problems1. One of the major problems associated with the existing system is that it is very difficult toaccess the old medical records of the patients as the paper based data are more prone to damage(Koh et al., 2013). 2. There is no security of the paper based data stored in the hospital.3. The manual record keeping is more prone to face issues such as data redundancy and dataduplication. 4. The patients in the rural areas may not always get the opportunity to avail proper medicalfacilities. 5. It is very difficult to back up a data as it is a time consuming work in comparison to theelectronic record keeping system.
