INTRODUCTION
Human resource management help organization to achieve goals and objectives. It is a
process of recruiting, selecting, training and development, performance appraisal of employees.
HRM play an important role in managing people, take proper care of employee motivation,
wellness benefit and maintain safety at workplace. It help to direct business towards success at a
large scale. Mont rose college is an internationally recognized higher education institution for
development of better future of an individual. College mainly specialized in teaching for
management and science students. College aim for student development and continuing
education. Report will explain Function of HRM applicable to planning of workforce at Mont
rose college. It discusses about different benefits of HRM practices for employer and employee.
Various approaches that are applied by company to hire candidates on vacant post will be
explained in this study.
MAIN BODY
1. Purpose and functions of HRM to workforce planning at Mont rose college
Human resource management is the process of managing workforce and to make them able
to work better in organization so that company’s goal can be obtained. HRM helps in workforce
planning that is managing and handling of HR in order to attain goals. HRM functions in work
force planning are explained as below:
Recruitment
Recruitment in workforce planning is a process of analyzing and selecting qualified
individual according to requirement of a job it helps in aligning recruitment goals with
organization one. The HR analyze existing work force in each department and then on basis of it
recruitment is done. Similarly, in Mont Rose the HR manager will analyze current employees
working at various job roles and how many are required in future. Thus, on basis of it
recruitment will be done. The sources are identified and staff is hired from it (Armstrong and
Taylor, 2020).
Training and development
It is also a function of HRM focus on improving current and future performance of an
individual. Here, in work force planning training is given to staff who are newly hired or to those
who need improvement in present job role. This helps in increasing their efficiency. In context
of Mont Rose, T&D is included in work force planning where employees are provide training on

basis of their job roles. Due to changes in education system and working of institution, training
help employees to cope up with those changes. Mont Rose train employees to develop

Performance appraisal
This function is used in work force planning as it helps in measuring the performance of
employees. So, accordingly it is evaluated that whether they have attained organizational goals
or not. Then, employees goals are aligned with organizational goals and gaps are identified. It is
useful in analyzing staff skills and abilities. Likewise, in Mont Rose, performance appraisal help
college to provide set goals that align with company. College analyze worth of an individual for
their institution. College analyze overall quality of work done by an individual that help them to
expand.
Managing employee relation
In work force planning it is necessary to manage employee relations. Thus, the gaps are
identified within work force and employee relations are maintained. This leads to creating a
positive environment within work place (Bratton and Gold, 2017). In Mont Rose, employee
relations are effectively monitored and maintained by HR manager. They do gap analysis to find
out loop holes. HR manager take care about maintaining healthy and safe environment for their
employees in institution which helps in maintaining effective employee relations.
Purpose of HRM
The main purpose of HRM in workforce planning is to align corporate goals with HR
one. Also, it helps in analyzing existing employees and how much is required in future. So, on
basis of it, recruitment is done in Mont Rose. Besides that, gaps are identified which helps in
