Technology in education What impact do you think technology will have on education in the future? In the present scenario, the use of technology has been enhanced in the field of education. Technology has been enhancing the process of learning of the students. This has also favored the process of teaching as there are various innovative educational projects that have been created based on the study that brings improvisation in the learning process of students. One of the positive impacts of technology can be related to improved communication. Technology can modify the classroom into the network that can boost the chance for the teachers to post the assignments progressively and also in solving the queries of the students can be easy for teachers. Students face the challenge of asking their queries from their teacher but in the future, the use of technology can resolve the challenge (Drago, 2015). The next positive impact can relate to the advanced research, quick information and eBooks. It has been noted that cloud storage and smart search engines can make the process of research easy. The students have to flip through the heaps of books to search a specific reference but in the future, the information can be easily available on different websites. The time taken to research the source can be reduced as now it is easy to access the different sources and also students can easily consolidate the information and knowledge for their assignments. The overall results can be improved by allowing the students to access the different sources easily(Biesta, 2017). But on the other hand, it has also been seen that there will be negative impacts of the technology on education in the future. One of the negative impacts will be related to incorrect information. With the development in the technology, the owners of the website urge to rank their websites on the top level in the search engines. So, they emphasize on rankings instead of the content that is posted on the websites. There are many websites that have wrong information which is copied or pasted from the different sources with checking its accuracy. Thus, it can be said that with the advancement in the technology the negative impact can be on the learner as they can be misguided by the incorrect information available on the sites (Ballantine, Hammack & Stuber, 2017). It has also been analyzed that the negative impact can be on the learners who can be disconnected from the real world. It is examined that educators can focus on online education 2
Technology in education tools instead of communicating orally. It can enhance the issue for the learners to communicate with their teachers and also the learner will always focus on the online tools and will be disconnected from the real world (Collins & Halverson, 2018). It can be concluded that there will be both positive and negative impact of technology on education. It is important to use the technology in the right manner so that it could be easy to avail the positive outcome. If technology is used in the right manner then it will help the individuals to boost their skills and knowledge. 3
