INTRODUCTION
Technology plays vital role within organization as it helps in managing activities,
maintaining records, keeping up to date information, executing activities and many more. In the
present time, it is important for an organization to adopt new technologies in order to
systematically and effectively maintain all the activities as well as operations. Technology allow
business entity to cut down the cost of manpower and operate effectively (Ajmal and AlShamsi,
2018). There are different technologies used by companies for managing information, maintain
privacy, managing employee records and so on. In the present report, there is a discussion about
the role of big data along with its benefits attained by Arden University. In addition to this,
information privacy and IT security measures used by company to protect data is discussed.
Furthermore, the concept of cellular network with its principal components is elaborated.
Moreover, advantages attained by organization by using cellular network is elaborated in the
report.
Question 1- Case study
a) Identification and discussion of big data with its role in Arden University
Big data is defined as a series of information which is large in number and is raising
dramatically overtime. In addition to this, it is a form of information which is not handle by any
conventional data processing system effectively. This data include 6V’s that is given below in
context to two departments that is finance Department an administration Department of Arden
University:
Volume: it is basically the quantity of information that is the data volume of Petabytes
which is increasing at high percentage. In addition to this, the role of Arden University within
administrative Department is that to record information of students at the time of admission. On
the other side, finance Department maintain their information in order to maintain records fairly
and properly.
Variety: The information consist of various formats that is images, text, audios and so on.
Along with this, the role of variety within administrative Department of Arden University is that

they gain information in the form of text and image and also keep personal information students
that is address, father’s name, mother’s name and so on (Al-Henzab, Tarhini and Obeidat, 2018).
In relation to finance Department, they maintain sales, purchases of students take place in
university properly.
Velocity: it is defined as amount of increase in records which means that University is
connected with many people such as students, staff members and so on. In addition to this, the
role of velocity within finance department is that they keep records of fees and also payment of
students.
Value: It is defined as amount of information that institution produce through converting
accessed large information into values. In addition to this, value plays vital role within
administrative department of university as they protect information of students properly (Au-
Yong-Oliveira and et. al., 2018). On the other side, maintain record of loss and profits is the role
of finance department.
Veracity: It is defined as large amount of data that is incompatible and inadequate leads to
veracity. It is analyzed that veracity has role in both the departments of Arden University as
sometimes it is complex to record information of large number of students and teachers in a
proper manner.
Variability: In context to Arden University, variability determines whether the streaming
information as well as learning structure is reliable and normal in the uncertain and unpredictable
circumstances as well as situations.
b) Discussion of benefits gain by Arden university after adopting big data
Big data is significant for an organisation in context of enhancing and attain competitiveness
in an effective manner. In addition to this, it has many advantages in context of variety, volume,
velocity, variability of an organisation procedure. There are various advantages gained attained
by big data adoption which are as follows:
Volume: Big data is significant and helpful in order to maintain and stored information. In
addition to this, the size of information is used with the purpose of determining potential value
and insight which can be used to develop effective big data.
Variety: It is analysed that big data is helpful with the purpose of determining type and
nature of information (Björklund and et. al., 2020). It also assist people to analyse as well as
make effective use of insight which has generation from information storage.
