1 PROJECT INTRODUCTION
1.1 PROJECT BACKGROUND
The paper mainly reflects on the project “CQUniversity NAIDOC Week event”. The SET
committee generally took interest in creating awareness about the various perspectives of the
Aboriginal and Torres Islander people and helps in developing opportunities for both the staffs
and students of the CQU university so that they can be able to engage within the project. It is
analyzed that the project which will be undertaken will be helpful in providing proper
opportunities for engaging as well as collaborating with the people of Torres and Strait Islander.
In addition to this, the project will be helpful in raising awareness and further assist in giving
proper understanding about the Australian perspectives as well as cultures. In addition to this,
the committee engage within a meeting where proper discussion is made that is mainly
associated with hosting the event. It is found that the most important as well as important option
for the project committee is to properly celebrate the event of NAIDOC week by effectively
hosting the event on the CQU university campus.
1.2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project focuses on organizing NAIDOC week events for the different campuses of the CQU
university including the Rockhampton, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane as well as Perth. The main
aim of the committee is to make sure that the organized event will be helpful in providing proper
opportunity to both the staffs and students of the University to properly get engaged with the
project for properly building proper collaborative relationship with the various communities of
Torres Strait and Aboriginal Islanders. Additionally, it is identified that the project that will be
undertaken is generally helpful in improving collaboration within the staffs and students of the
CQU university for raising awareness related with the perspective and culture of the indigenous
people.

1.4 JUSTIFICATION

The NAIDOC week event that
will be organized will
generally be beneficial in
uniting the people of different
culture and generally helpful
in improving the awareness
and knowledge of both the
staffs and students about the
various types of perspective
