Introduction
A business environment can be defined as the combination of all institutions, individuals and governing
external forces, which are not confined to the control of an organization, but the firm still depends on them
as they influence on the overall sustainability and performance of the organization (Drakulevski and Nakov,
2016). Based on prior discussion and investigation on the value of business environment it can be underlined
that it not only helps an organization to adopt and sustain to the constant flux of changing environment but
also to apply them as market opportunities. In each organization, there is a close and concise communication
exists between the external and internal business environment and to analyze them properly to make out
strategies is the keyway sustain against negative impacts of the changing situation. This study will indulge in
investigating the common yet important information about a multinational firm (Tesco Plc) along with the
analysis of external as well as the internal business environment will be done to demonstrate its importance
and effects on an organization.

1. Introduction to the Organisation covering the background details of the organization
Tesco is dedicated in enlarging shareholder value with the help of an innovative consumer-focused strategy,
which is based on core organizational value. As a leading retailer, with around 440,000 workers, this
company serves nearly millions of consumers each week in the stores and online around the globe. This
organization holds one of the leading market positions in a food retailer in the United Kingdom with a
promiscuous market share that exceeds 15% (tescoplc. com, 2018). Having more than 6,800 stores around
the globe, this multinational organization has been pronounced as the third largest retailer across the world
as per its gross revenues and ninth largest retailer in the world according to its revenues. Listed in the
London Stock Exchange and an integral part of the FTSE 100 index, this company has a market
capitalization of around £18.1 billion (Pilbeam, 2018). Organizational operating income and net income are
respectively £1,280 million and £ (54) million. Tesco has varied subsidiaries around the world that consists
of services like Tesco Stores Ltd, Tesco Mobile, Tesco Family Dining Ltd, Tesco Bank, and others
(tescoplc. com, 2018). Currently, it has been noticed that Tesco organizational innovations consist the
“Clubcard loyalty card” along with offerings from Tesco Personal Finance that involve a grocery budgeting
account named ‘Clubcard Plus’.

The products and services offered by them
At Tesco, organizational authorities are focused on creating it easier for the customers and employees to eat
well and stay healthy. Their product range starts from groceries to clothing, beauty, and health
supplementary and many other items. Their different service range includes Tesco Bank, telecommunication
services through Tesco mobile, Tesco photo, magazine, club card, delivery server and others (tescoplc. com,
2018).
