Question 1: Describe the product/service that is being
offered by Tesla
The terms product, good and service are used in different meanings in marketing. As in order
to denote the offerings of the organisations, the marketer uses term product to define it, and
on the basis of its nature, they further classify it can good or service. The goods or the service
are the benefits that the organisations provide to the customer to satisfy their needs and
requirements. Tesla is offering the customers with goods that are able to meet their
transportation needs and requirements that have a competitive factor within the industry and a
quality experience (Harris & Schaefer, 2017).
The goods and service offered by the organisation differentiate form each other in terms of
factors or nature such as tangible or intangible, production and consumption, perishable or
non-perishable. As the organisations dealing in providing goods to the customers provide
with a tangible product, that fulfils the needs and requirements of the customers within the
industry. Also, service is generated at the time when required by the customer, whereas the
goods are required to be produced and stored. The products offered by the manufacturer
provides benefits to the user or the consumer in three levels.
The product serves as a means for the actual need’s fulfilment, after that it focuses on the
complementary services that can be related with the product and the final is the augmented
product, which can be referred to as after-sale service. The product developed should be as
per the needs and requirements of the customer within the industry and after that focusing on
meeting the needs and requirements along with focusing on the organisational development.
Tesla is focused on providing the customers with a means to travel from one place to another
and is in a tangible form, which is required to be manufactured and stored. Hence it can be

classified under goods, that is being provided to the customer to satisfy their needs and
requirements (Harris & Schaefer, 2017).
The benefit of the car or the good provided by Tesla includes the core product which is the
car and fulfils the basic requirement of transportation, along with core service, it is focused
on providing the customers with quality product and facilities that would add towards the
comfort for the customer and provide a product that includes features such as map assistance,
stylish interiors or integrated technology updates, apart from the product Tesla also focuses
on providing its customer with the after-sales service so that the customer can smoothly use
its product. The product offered by Tesla meets the customer and industry requirements and
the product is based on electricity which is a competitive factor within the industry and
focuses on the continuous improvement within the products that are being offered (Zucchi,
2019).
Question 2: Features of Model 3 offered by Tesla
Tesla is focused on the manufacturing and sale of battery-based electric cars and vehicles.
Model 3 as discussed in the case study is the part of the Tesla car models. The model
introduced by Tesla is among the least expensive models offering high-class service. Model 3
is focused on the quick acceleration and quality improvement in the models offered by Tesla
within the industry. The acceleration power of the car is strong enough that it can reach up to
speed from zero to 60 mph in just 5.1 sec. Safety and quality were the main focus point while
designing the car (Tesla, 2020).
The outer structure of the car is made with a combination of aluminium and steel for
providing the car with maximum strength. To improve the service or the quality experience
of driving, Tesla has provided with two independent motors, that are connected to the control
system, in case one motor fails to operate or respond, the driver can switch to the second
