A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN ON THE MOUSETRAP POWERED COLLISION AVOIDANCEVEHICLEINTRODUCTION The Automobile Collison Avoidance system (ACAS) is a typical solution that traditionally has been used in aircraft to avoid midair collisions between planes. However, the technology has gained traction in the automobile industry courtesy of the improved collision prevention technologies. The report hereinafter focuses on the conceptual design proposals for the said technology. The solution presented is of a simple mousetrap powered collision avoidance vehicle. Therefore, it should be noted that powering will be achieved by mousetrap while other electronic configurations are eliminated. The design is expected to perform within the given constraints and considerations. For instance, it will have to start and stop directly inline without having traverse deviations. Now, drivers are becoming more concerned about the cost and safetyof these systems. Therefore, the solution being proposed must meet all considerations and the resulting physical model mimic the functionalities of the real one. CONCEPTUAL DESIGN Product Definition and Feasibility of Initial Concepts The following are the proposed mousetrap concepts from which one of them is selected and developed further.
