Google started its business as a search engine provider to the customers and was ableto attract the attention of a huge number of customers from all over the world. The platformprovided by Google has been able to provide a huge chance to the various advertisers foradvertising their products. The online advertising and search engine related activities havebeen a major part of the business model of Google. In the year 2005 Google had acquiredAndroid, which was an open source mobile operating system. The Android operating systemis provided free of cost to the manufacturers of the smartphones. The business model that wasfollowed by Google thereby changed from providing search engine services to providingoperating systems for mobile phones (Laudon & Laudon, 2015). The business model that was followed by Facebook was based on providing aplatform to the students of the university a place to meet and socialise with each other. Theorganization has extended its business and has become the largest service based on socialnetworking in the world. The mobile devices have developed themarket with the help of ubiquitous internet and advanced functionality. The internet accessrelated activities of the users in the United States have taken place with the help of mobiledevices. The tablets and the smartphones take huge advantage of the growing cloud of thecomputing capacity that have been available to the smartphone users. This has led to the hugecompetition that has started between the three technology giants (Laudon & Laudon, 2015). The mobile strategy that has been used by Apple is based on providing the mobilesoftware applications to the users of the products that are provided by the organization. Thecompany has become a leader in the mobile software sector with the help of the popularity ofits App Store. Google on the other hand provides mobile computing based facilities to thecustomers by providing the Android operating system to the smartphone manufacturers freeof cost. The apps that are provided by Apple to the customers with the help of proprietaryoperating systems. The organization sells the apps to the customers, whereas, on the otherhand the Google provides the mobile operating systems to the smartphone manufacturers freeof cost. The mobile strategy that has been used by Facebook is related to the conversion of itspopularity and the user data into advertising dollars. The mobile ad product that has beenprovided by Facebook is based on the Sponsored Stories which increased its revenues(Laudon & Laudon, 2015).
