From the above activity diary, the project has four main activity parts as listed below
1. Photovoltaic system installment

2. Wind turbine installment
3. Installation of convertors and voltage controllers
4. General studio flat electrical wiring
Each of these activities have been describe of the subtopics below
Photovoltaic system installment
Photovoltaic modules can be introduced on a building's rooftop, its façade or on the ground. Amid the

Instalment of wind turbine
The following steps are to be used in the event of mounting a wind turbine
a. To build a wind turbine support post – galvanized material, with same category as that of the
studio flat will be used. 4 inches galvanized iron pole for support, with 30 galvanized pipe
installed up to erect the turbine up
b. a metal will be welded below the pole for better stability of the pole. Rubber will be attached to
reduce vibration.
c. To prevent corrosion of the pole, a spray will be applied on all the welds and all areas prone to
corrosion, a cold zinc was used.
d. The pole was mounted, and power cable run through it, this will be used to supply power from
the turbine, wire specifications, 3.0mm2 copper cable.
e. Prepare the turbine, assemble the blades, don’t overtight the blades (Elevli, Koc and Kaya 2016)

f. The turbine will then be secured on the mounted pole
g. The final step is to commission the supply and connect it the system

Installation of installing convertors, batteries, voltage controllers and general wiring

To install a convertor, a technician will follow the basic electrical manual as required in the
electrical conducts. The room wiring will also be performed by certified electrical technician. The wiring
will be done for a general user (Associates, 2010)
Methods to be used in monitoring project activities
Various tools will be used to analyze the effectiveness of the proposed project. The sample tools
listed below will be used to analyses different instances of the project.
Project evaluation and the future work
Similar projects have been done before, to make this project unique, improvements must be adopted,
this will include the following
a. Using flexible solar panels, the panels which can rotate depending on the solar intensity
b. Efficient home appliances to uses solar energy
Conclusion
The activities described above, with basic energy and engineering knowledge leads to a sustainable
energy solution for a flat.
