The introduction: General information about the country
According to official reports, it is concluded that in the three months to February, before the
coronavirus outbreak worsened and plunged the nation into what is expected to be a historic
recession, Taiwan's economy was almost static (Li, 2020). In the December-February period, the
Office of National Statistics said that gross domestic product grew by 0.1 percent, weaker than a
median growth estimate of 0.2 percent in a Reuters poll of economists. Taiwan has only 609
covid cases and only 35 are dead. Taiwan has been cast along with other East Asian and
Oceanian states as one of the world’s COVID-19 success storeys. But as countries such as New
Zealand and Vietnam have seen domestic outbreaks during the summer, Taiwan’s last five
months and counting continue to be characterised by one figure: Zero, the number of local
transmissions registered since April 12. Taiwan had reported a total of 388 cases on that day.
Taiwan had registered a total of 498 as of Friday. Each positive case of COVID-19 reported
since April 12 has either been imported from a person travelling from abroad who tested positive
during a mandated 14-day quarantine or from a cluster onboard a navy ship returning to Palau
from a goodwill cruise.

huge shock to the NHI and social care systems. This is concluded from the statistics that there is

started to issue a series of maps and commentaries in recent weeks, explaining the various
aspects of the influence of COVID-19 as they unfold. How COVID-19 has changed NHI care
and facilities for people with other health needs is one of the main concerns we have been
investigating. Some major patterns are starting to appear.
Political impact - The Coronavirus pandemic has altered our daily life society in ways that may
have appeared inconceivable to us only a few weeks ago. There is huge influence of the COVID-
19 epidemic on British politics and the steps the country has undertaken in order to safeguard
public health, especially their consequences for the civil rights and the legal and security future
